JUDITH WAGEMAN On Tuesday, January 3, 2017, Judy passed away peacefully in Winnipeg, at the age of 74 years. Born in Regina, Judy was the daughter of David and Peggy Shaw and was raised with love in Saskatoon, along with her sister Jan. After graduating from the University of Saskatchewan, Judy got married and had two daughters, Andrea and Jennifer. She continued her education and became a teacher librarian after the family moved north to Thompson. While her marriage didn't last, Judy flourished in her work and brought energy and enthusiasm to school life. A second marriage to Hank Hiebert brought new activities and friendships at their cottage on Setting Lake. Following her retirement and Hank's death, Judy married again and began life in the United States. Unfortunately though, her health was not strong and she returned to Canada to be closer to her daughter Andrea's family. Judy will be fondly remembered by her daughters for her strength and her drive, her sense of fun, her love of travel and important lessons on the value of hard work and independence. Her sons-in-law, Bryan and Nigel, will forever be grateful for her generosity. And to her grandchildren, Laura and Ian, Graeme and Kate, she will always be The Nana, who never showed up without a warm hug and gifts, from hand-knitted mittens and sweaters to toys, treats and story books. In compliance with Judy's wishes, no formal Funeral Service will be held. The family would like to sincerely thank the kind staff at the Charleswood Care Centre for their care of Judy in her final months. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB, R3L 0K6. Although I have never met Judy I am for ever grateful to her for giving birth to the most beautiful soul, a son who she never got a chance to meet. He is the most kind, compassionate and loving man I have ever met. You would be proud. Too Judy's family, I am so sorry for your loss. - Posted by: Corinne Hendry (Friend) on: Mar 18, 2020

So sorry to hear of Judy's passing. I have many fond memories of Judy, walking home from school together, fun to be with, always a smiling face. Rest in peace my old friend, perhaps we will meet again one day! My most sincere sympathy to all her loved ones! - Posted by: Lyn Rhode-Neuman (nee:Bouskill) (School friend) on: Jan 08, 2017
