Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANGELO GUZZI It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Angelo Guzzi on Sunday, February 5, 2017 at the age of 85. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 64 years, Francesca (nee Arcuri); sons, Frank (Franca) and Albert (Jude); daughters, Joanna, Rosemary and Lorraine (Ted); grandchildren, Marc, Mike (Darcy), Michelle (Dennis), Andrew, Christopher, Devyn (Kendra), Caressa, Matthew, Ashley, Anthony, Xander, Evan and Willem and great-grandchildren, Lucy and Oscar. His sisters, Rosina and Francesca, numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and friends in Canada, Italy and Argentina will dearly miss him. Angelo was predeceased by his infant daughter Giovanna, his parents Francesco and Giovanna, as well as his brothers Carlo, Agostino, Luigi and Felice and nephew Frank. Angelo was born in Miglierina, Catanzaro, Italy on August 10, 1931, and came to Canada in 1956. Francesca followed in 1958 and together they raised five children. On December 11, 2016 they celebrated 64 years of marriage. Their love and devotion was the foundation upon which they raised their children. Pa was proud of his work in the upholstery industry, and once retired, he enjoyed his winter get-aways in Mexico with Ma. Visits home to Italy as a family provided cherished memories as well. He enjoyed sharing stories of his past as he had a remarkable memory and wit. Pa loved his family more than anything. He was a gentle and devoted grandfather who modelled unconditional love for his wife, children and grandchildren. Pa was always generous with his guidance and support. He was highly respected and loved by all. Pa loved to work in both his city and lake gardens. He also loved his cottage time in Loni Beach; family celebrations, watching the waves, and walking with Ma on the boardwalk. All the grandkids benefitted from Nonno buying them an ice cream after supper. The family would like to thank the palliative care staff at Riverview for their care and compassion. Thanks to Daniella, our special angel. We are forever grateful. The funeral will be held at Holy Rosary Church, 510 River Ave. on Friday, February 10, 2017 with viewing at 10:00 a.m. and mass at 11:00 a.m. Entombment at Assumption Cemetery and Queen of Heaven Mausoleum, 3990 Portage Ave. Reception to follow at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to a charity of your choice. For those who wish to sign the online Guest Book please visit our website.

Our Dear Francesca, Lori and all your family. We were so saddened to hear/read of Angelo's passing. We often spoke about your Dad and Mom with great fondness, wonderful times and memories to last a lifetime. A warm, loving and gentle man. Rod would often accompany him to the Market for the perfect tomatoes for your Moms pasta sauce, which was the talk of Brisas Del Mar. The Obituary was so well written and certainly described his loving, charitable personality. Please accept our deepest condolences to all of the family. We feel blessed to have spent many winters with them both in Puerto Vallarta. Rod and I are writing this from room 201 at Brisas , one of the units they had stayed in so they would have room for Lori and Anthony. Oh such great memories. It will be a big adjustment for you Francesca, and all his family, but I am sure as you look back at all the fond memories , it will help you through all your tomorrows. Much Love, and big hugs, Hilda & Rod. xoxo - Posted by: Rod & Hilda Richard (Friends) on: Feb 09, 2017
