Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySHIRLEY ANN MARDEL RICHLO (nee BROCK) January 17, 1929 February 13, 2017 Peacefully on February 13, 2017 at Golden Door Geriatric Centre, Shirley made her long awaited journey to be with her husband Samuel and her son Glen Richlo. She was predeceased by her husband Sam on April 18, 1985, her son Glen on May 15, 2001, her parents Julia (Touts) Campbell, Aubrey Brock, her brother Robert (Stoney) Brock and three sisters Audrey Neal, Dorothy Terin and Joyce Dokuchic. She will be deeply missed by her daughter Connie, grandchildren Samantha, Brock and Austin, sister Merle Woods, brothers Jack (Dorothy) Campbell, Murray Campbell, close friends Terry Haluik and Leo Dame and many nieces and nephews. Shirley was born January 17, 1929 in Winnipeg, MB. She attended Daniel McIntyre School. She started her career with Eaton's until she married Sam October 14, 1950 and became a devoted wife and mother. Once her children grew up, she worked at the Y.M.C.A Daycare until her son was diagnosed with Cardiomyopathy, she spend most of her time with him until he received a heart transplant in December 1993. When Shirley was blessed with three grandchildren she devoted all her time to them until Alzheimer took over her mind and body. Shirley's passion was her children, grandchildren and her dogs. You could not have asked for a more caring and compassionate person than Shirley. I would like to thank Michelle Stanton and the many personal care workers at Golden Doors for the loving care and compassion they gave to my mother. A celebration of Shirley's life will be held on Friday, February 17, 2017 at 2:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. Donations in Shirley's memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba or to a charity of your choice. My mom is like no other. She gave me life, nurtured me, taught me, dressed me, fought for me, held me, shouted at me, kissed me, but most importantly, loved me unconditionally. There are not enough words I can say to describe just how important my mom was to me, and what a powerful influence she continues to be I Love You Mom! So many beautiful memories of this special auntie! She could always make me feel special and welcome in her cozy home. The baking, the games, the quick humour and loving teasing. A beautiful woman. RIP Auntie Shirley. Love forever. Janet Piirik (Woods) - Posted by: Janet Piirik (Niece) on: Feb 16, 2017

As you know Connie, your mom was the "most fun" Aunt there ever was! Not having children of her own for 11years made her the most popular aunt to spend time with. I looked forward to summer holidays when I would stay for weeks at a time, even though I lived in the City, and we would bake Jumbo Raisin cookies, play Sorry, Snap and take bus rides to visit Nanny. What I enjoyed the most was that she was never too busy to devote all her time on you and made you feel extra special! She will be truly missed! This must be very hard on you and your kids right now, but in time those wonderful memories (before her sickness) will all come back! - Posted by: Donna Aikman (Niece) on: Feb 15, 2017
