Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • Our Grandfather was a remarkable man. He was a talented painter and woodworker and musician. He was very dedicated to keeping our family close. We were so very lucky to grow up with he and Gran so close by. Grampa's interest in CB radios was one he shared with all of us when we were small and we loved hearing about who he had spoken to from where. So many good memories of him at the house on Thompson Dr. When I grew up and had my son, he was the best Great-Grampa too. All the Great-Grandkids adored him. He has left us a legacy of family and strong values and good memories to cherish. He will be deeply missed and always loved and remembered fondly. - Posted by: Darlene DeLaronde (Granddaughter ) on: Mar 25, 2017

  • Grandpa was a loving and supportive person to me. He was always excited to hear about what was going on in my life, and had nothing but positive encouragement. He worked very hard to keep in touch with me no matter where I moved, and never missed a special day. I was so proud and impressed when he made a Facebook account. He was willing to traverse generations and learn new technologies to keep in touch with family. I think that says a lot about how much love he had to give. He was a great man who raised great children into wonderfully loving and caring adults. I'm thankful to him for raising my dad, who is one of the most genuine and kind people I've ever known. Grandpa, I will miss you. - Posted by: Robbin Risley (Granddaughter ) on: Mar 24, 2017

  • First of all, I would like to send my deepest and most heart felt condolences to you all. There are two things that I will always remember most about Uncle Claude. Our visits as kids when Uncle Claude would play for us, he was such a talented man. Mostly though I will remember his full belly laugh. Thinking of him and dad sitting in the livingroom telling stories and then the laughing started, no sound from either of them for the longest time, that's how hard they would laugh usually ending with both of them wiping tears from their eyes. It still brings the biggest smile to my face when ever I think about it. I am so sorry for your loss, You all are always in my thoughts. - Posted by: Debbie Risley (Neice) on: Mar 24, 2017

  • Dad was the best father anyone could ever ask for. He taught us so many life lessons. The gift of laughter...Dad had a wonderful sense of humour and we learned at an early age the value of a well-timed joke (or prank!). He taught us, by example, to have a strong work ethic...Dad was sent home from work once because he was so sick he passed out on the loading dock! Dad was a strict disciplinarian but he tempered that with love and affection. I remember so many times cuddling next to him on the couch to watch TV. His last words to me were "I love you, Sweetie." Dad taught us reliability...he was always there to come to our rescue when we needed help with a boost or flat tire, if something needed repairing, a ride somewhere, just anything at all. Dad taught us the value of money...if we wanted a certain pair of jeans (or a fringe jacket) we needed to earn the money ourselves. Dad didn't always give us what we wanted but he ALWAYS gave us what we needed. I love you so much, Dad and I'll miss you always - Posted by: Wewndy Aldrich (daughter) on: Mar 24, 2017
