I met Chaz way back in '96 when I moved to Wpg. from Los Angeles. He used to rock these big personalized hoodies with the Players Club or something on it lol. Him and Desmond always chilling at Polo with Jomo and the crew those were the days, we all recall his big loveable soul happiest. I recall our days at Black O'Rama and Latinorama and hanging at the Forks smoking a fatty watching out for security or popo lol. He was always the center of attention for sure. Man I'm gonna miss this dude on the real. Then there was summer school at good 'ole St. John's HS oh boy and all the house parties we attended and classes we ditched hahah. I remember his mom Wendy and how she even took me in when I needed some help back in my wild times in life. I really wish I could bring him back to us jah kno. My heart and soul is heavy with a sadness that will never be replaced. He was my bff, my brother, my roommate amongst other things and there's not a passing day I don't think about him and shed a tear or two. My condolences to the Brown and Minty families and to his pops who also will miss this viewing. Rest easy my friend. - Posted by: Naomi Alexander (High School Friends ) on: Apr 29, 2017

Anyone who knew Chaz in the mid-early 2000s knows that wherever he was I was not far behind (vice versa) I would like to send my deepest condolences to his immediate family as well as all of those who are feeling the loss of this great spirit we all know existed here with us. As Im currently riding from Toronto - Winnipeg I can already feel the emptiness. Chaz not being the first one ringing my phone asking what time I will be arriving only to be the first one to pick me up. Thats the kind of bond we had. I will always hold deeply the countless memories from UFC sparring, to sitting beside each other in class, visiting you in Calgary, you coming to Toronto, partying, living as roomates, to cruising from sun up to sun down. Sometimes I would be falling asleep in the passenger seat while he drove and he would punch my arm or turn the music up high telling me to wake up....lol. Thats the Chaz I I will miss...from the fist bumping to the strong shoulder check to his joy he himself found in reminiscing back in the dayz. I can clearly say that when u left us..a part of me has also died. God knows. RIP My Friend ...My Brother...My cousin...you are my Family. 🙏👆 - Posted by: Lester Felix (Cousin) on: Apr 27, 2017

I offer my deepest condolences to The Minty family. I met Chaz in elementary school at Ecole Sacre Coeur. Though it has been many years since we've spoken I'll always remember the joy and energy he brought to the class room. He was always smiling! I'm saddened to hear that the good lord called upon you, I wish you well in the after life my friend. - Posted by: Carrie Jeffrey (Elementary school friend ) on: Apr 27, 2017

It is with a broken heart that I pen these few words - words that cannot express how I feel about the passing of my Great Nephew, Chaz. I did not have much time with him, as we were separated by thousands of miles, but the few times we were together I found something special in him. His smile was touching, and his touch was gentle. One might expect that someone so physically strong would be rough, but conversely, he was gentle. Last time we were together was at his Aunt Jackie's birthday. He ran to me and hugged me. I could see him now in my mind's eye. As has been said before, he was the person everyone would like to know. My thanks to all those people who are supporting his Mom Wendy, and his siblings. I pray that God gives them the strength to cope and the courage to carry on. Blessings to you all. - Posted by: Bridgit Agatha Sam-Bailey (Ms) (Great Aunt) on: Apr 26, 2017

I only had the pleasure of knowing Chaz for a short time. In the week that I got to spend time with him in the Dominican I could tell he was a sweetheart. His big smile, the love he had for his friends, the pound he would give to everyone when greeting them. He was just a soft, quiet, big hearted man with a smile for miles. I am thinking of his mother and praying that she finds strength to get through this time. She raised quite the gentleman. To my friends mourning such a great loss I pray for you to find healing and comfort in the memories you all shared over the years. He left a footprint on my heart in the short time we spent together as a crew in the DR. I will remember that trip and cherish it for all my days. Until we meet again my friend, it was our pleasure getting to know you xoxo Rest easy Chaz - Posted by: Jenn (Friend ) on: Apr 25, 2017
