JOAO MANUEL RAPOSO (JOHN) March 20, 1960 - May 15, 2017 Surrounded by his wife and children, John Manuel Raposo lost his battle with cancer at the age of 57. John is survived by his wife Anita of 41 years and his children, Anthony (Jennifer), Jennifer (Robert) and Samantha (Shane). John also had six grandchildren, Julianna, Marcus, Ethan, Mason, Mila and Sawyer. Also left to mourn is his mother Urselina (Manuel); his sisters, Inez (Wilbert) and Julie (Carlos). John was predeceased by his father Joao and his brother Jose. John immigrated to Canada in December, 1966 with his family. He grew up in the west end of Winnipeg where he met his wife Anita at the age of 16. Soon after, they got married and started a family. John loved music, karate and fishing. His favourite pastime was being outside with his dog, Sasha. John had a passion for sports, cars and late modelled trucks. John found the most joy in spending time with his grandkids. Whether it was taking them to the park or just for a walk, his grandkids were the light of his life. The family would like to thank the excellent team at CancerCare Manitoba. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street in Winnipeg, MB. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba.

Hey Gramps, you’ll never see this but it’s the closest thing I can do to message you. I know that was you at your grave at the farm this month. I could feel you. I miss you.
