LES A. MCAMMOND 1950 - 2017 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Leslie A. McAmmond on May 18, 2017. Les was born in Winnipeg, MB on March 16, 1950, the son of the late Norman and Betty McAmmond. Surviving Les are his loving wife Linda of 47 years; his sons, Philip (Jai-Lynne) and Scott (Jodi) and four grandchildren, Makenna, Avery, Tarik and Cruz. He is also survived by his sister Patricia and many other family and friends. He was so proud of his sons and enjoyed watching his grandchildren grow. Les was raised and went to school in Fort Garry and as a child he spent his summers at the family cottage located at Brereton Lake. He started working early in his life in the transportation industry. His strong work ethic quickly moved him from loading freight to running the terminal as the terminal manager for various transportation companies in Winnipeg and Thunder Bay. Les and his family spent many years sailing (Tranquility) on Lake of the Woods which was a great passion in his life. He will be greatly missed. The family would like to thank the Riverview Palliative Care with a special thanks to Kelly. Flowers are gratefully declined, but if family/friends so wish donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society of Manitoba. A memorial gathering to celebrate his life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at Thomson "In the Park" Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard. THOMSON "IN THE PARK" 204-925-1120 Condolences may be sent to www.thomsoninthepark.com
