Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGEORGE HEBERT June 29, 1963 - May 16, 2017 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of George Hebert, after a lengthy battle with brain cancer. George is survived by his wife Anne of 35 years; sons, Michael (Jazzmine Coulombe) and David with grandchildren Ronan, Chloe and Talia. George was born in Hull, Quebec and grew up in and around the Ottawa/Gatineau area. He joined the military at 17 and after basic training joined the 2nd Battalion PPCLI (Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry). George served in many different places Cyprus, Germany, Winnipeg, Gagetown, NB, Bosnia and many other places in Canada and the USA for training. George was very proud to serve with the PPCLI and enjoyed being part of an extensive Brotherhood. When he was medically released in 1998 he attended Red River College where he attained his grade 12 and completed the C.E.T. program on the Dean's Honour Roll. He was hired by Inland Aggregates on Garven Road in 2001 while still in school and continued there until he was diagnosed in September, 2014. He loved what he did at Inland and he developed strong relationships with the people he worked with. George was always a quiet, unassuming guy who never had anything bad to say about anyone or anything. His philosophy was that there was always someone worse off than he so no use complaining or feeling sorry for yourself. He felt that way right to the end. We want to thank Beausejour Hospital where he spent his last two months. The staff was very caring to him, our family and our friends. We would also like to thank Springfield and Beausejour Homecare and CancerCare Manitoba. A special thank you to Glen (Quib) and Lorraine Goudie, Les Cels, Angie and Randy MacDonald and the rest of the PPCLI Brotherhood and our close friends for visiting so often and keeping George company when family wasn't there. Your kindness was appreciated. A memorial will be held in early June when a celebration of life will take place. Final resting will take place at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens at 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the charities of your choice. Family and friends may sign a Book of Condolence at www.glenlawn.ca Glen Lawn Funeral Home 204-982-7550
