ELSIE MORALEWICK
Date of Passing: May 10, 2017
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELSIE MORALEWICK It is with great sadness and sorrow that we announce the passing of our best friend and mother, Elsie Mary Moralewick on May 10, 2017, at the tender age of 88. She was predeceased by her husband, Steve (Moralewick) in 2016 at the tender age of 91; her parents, John and Lillian (Wagner); and five brothers, Freddie, Harvey, Johnny, Eddie and David. Elsie leaves to mourn her three daughters, Linda, Judy (Kevin) and Patsy; five grandchildren, Cheryl (Darrin), Darcy (Blake), Shelley, Tim (Ainsley), and Jeffrey (Michelle); five great-grandchildren, Matthew, Emily, Anthony, Alex and Mackenzie; one great-great-granddaughter, Nellie; sister-in-law, Shirley; brother-in-law Bill Kirk; also many nieces and nephews. Interment of cremated remains to be held at a later date at Holy Ghost Cemetery. I am standing upon the seashore. A ship, at my side, spreads her white sails to the moving breeze and starts for the blue ocean. She is an object of beauty and strength. I stand and watch her until, at length, she hangs like a speck of white cloud just where the sea and sky come to mingle with each other. Then, someone at my side says, "There, she is gone." "Gone where?" Gone from my sight. That is all. She is just as large in mast, hull and spar as she was when she left my side. And, she is just as able to bear her load of living freight to her destined port. Her diminished size is in me -- not in her. And, just at the moment when someone says, "There, she is gone," There are other eyes watching her coming, and other voices ready to take up the glad shout, "Here she comes!" And that is dying... - Henry Van Dyke The pain is gone and no longer will you suffer. Until we meet again. We love you Mom. Thank you to all staff on 3rd floor, Unit 5 at Seven Oaks General Hospital for all the care and compassion. Cropo Funeral Chapel, 204-586-8044

My memory of Aunt Elsie is that she was always full of energy; she walked fast and she talked fast. She reminded me of the Energizer Bunny, always on the move. One thing that impressed me about Elsie was that as she aged, even though she had issues with her heart throughout most of her life, that she always seemed to have an upbeat optimistic attitude toward life and was grateful for having lived as long as she had. Something that we can all learn from. I am grateful to Elsie for helping me to learn about my grandparents, Stefan and Antonina, who I called Big Grandma and about the Moralewicz family history, by helping to answer my questions. Information that I will pass on to my children and share with other family members. It is very sad to see my relatives, grow old, become ill and pass on one by one. I love and miss all of them. But I have hope that some day, when I pass on, I will once again reunite with them. I will miss my telephone conversations with Elsie and visits when I come to Winnipeg. I will be lighting a candle for her and saying a prayer for her as well as Steve at the Sunday mass. A gesture I would recommend to others, that I am certain she would appreciate, having been a convert to the Roman Catholic faith. May God grant her peace and divine mercy upon her eternal soul. I would like to mention one very important person, who was not acknowledged in the above obituary. That person, was for many years a coworker of Steve and a very close friend of both Steve and Elsie. He was always there to help Steve; then to visit him when he was hospitalized; and then to help Elsie in any and every way that he could when Steve had passed on. Although not a relative by blood or marriage, he is a relative by his thoughtfulness, kindness and humanity. He is an example to all of us of what a Christian should be. He is a prince of a man. The Moralewick family is very fortunate to have a friend like him. That man is Harry Kinnear, Pattiās partner. Thank you Harry for all that you have done for the Moralewick family. I remember so very long ago coming across the street in my housecoat to have pancakes with Linda Judy and Pasty. Elsie would always make me feel welcome and her good was great! I also rememberthe "nothings" she made. A wonderful lady who will be missed. She is safe and happy with God now. God bless! - Posted by: Rod Kebicz (family friend) on: May 21, 2017

My dear Auntie Elsie meant so much to me. She was always a pleasure to talk to and had such a positive outlook on life. She always had a smile on her face, loved to laugh and will always hold a special place in my heart. She hosted me many times as a child and all are fond memories. Thank you and may you rest in peace my dear Auntie Elsie. Love Louise - Posted by: Louise Adolfson (niece) on: May 21, 2017
