I worked with Joanie at Stony Mountain institution for many years. She was a great lady and had some sense of humour! She was always pleasant and had a real zest for life. Working in that environment wasn't always easy but Joanie always had a smile on her face or a joke to tell. After she retired she was missed but we did see her from time to time for lunch and she always looked happy and was loving retirement and her winters away. She was a fantastic, kind lady and she will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with her family during this difficult time. - Posted by: Linda Major (Co-Worker/Friend) on: May 23, 2017

We first met Rambling Joan at Saturday morning coffee in Mesa. Her love of life and ability to retell a story was amazing. As we got to know her we found her award winning smile warmed our hearts. We love to dance and any time we would be dancing in the courtyard and Joan was there, she would push up on her cheeks and yell out to smile come on smile!! 😀 We will miss her very much and our hearts go out to her family. She will leave a hole in everyone heart. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all today as you celebrate her wonderful life. Sorry we could not make it but we are still trying and I mean trying to get our crops in the ground. 💕💕 - Posted by: Pender and Donna Smith (Mesa friends) on: May 21, 2017
