WILLIAM (BILL) RUSSELL HOWE October 5, 1936 - May 31, 2017 We are sad to announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband, father, uncle and grandfather, Bill Howe. Bill is survived by his wife Gwen, who was his best friend and partner for 56 years; sons, Tom and Dave (Mirella); and grandchildren, Steven, Alyssa, and Micheal. Bill was predeceased by his mother Ethel; father Tom; sisters, Maude, May, Irene; and brother Ted. Born and raised in Winnipeg, Bill was the youngest of five children. He apprenticed in Winnipeg, became a journeyman electrician and married Gwen. In 1961, they moved to Brandon where Bill taught the Journeyman Electrician Program at the Assiniboine Community College. Bill loved spending quality time at his favourite place, their cottage at Laclu, with his sons and grandchildren. Bill and Gwen have a very wide network of friends and relatives, and he was known for his great storytelling abilities. But more than anything, he was known for his kindness and caring. He always went above and beyond when it came to helping others, and nothing was too much to ask. Bill loved his family and friends very much, and will be sorely missed by all. A celebration of Bill's life for friends and family will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Glendale Golf and Country Club, 400 Augier Avenue, Winnipeg, MB. Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • Gwen, Tom, Dave and family, Very sorry to hear of Bill's passing. I still remember the day when you guys asked me to clear your lot in Lac Lu so you could build your cottage. It turned out great and you have so many decades of memories in Lac Lu to cherish. Our deepest sympathy to your family. - Posted by: Scott Primrose (Friend ) on: Jul 12, 2017

  • My thoughts are with you Gwen and family with you loss of Bill. I first Bill and you at one of you garage sales a few years ago and still have the Mexican wall plant holder in our sunroom. Then last year we became re acquainted when we worked together on selling a small piece of your property to your neighbour. I very much enjoyed talking to Bill about his history at Laclu. - Posted by: Paul Tilley (Laclu Acquaintance ) on: Jun 18, 2017

  • We are greatly saddened to hear of Bill's passing. We have fond memories of time many years ago with Bill, Gwen & family at their cottage. Bill was quite the handyman and made the cottage a beautiful retreat. His sense of humour lives on in our memories. Please accept our sincere condolences on the loss of your dear husband, father, and grandfather. From the Hall Family - Posted by: The Hall Family (Friends) on: Jun 10, 2017

  • We were so sad to hear of Bill's passing. We only got to know him in later years and had planned to visit this summer. We enjoyed our previous visits and will miss the long phone calls especially in the cold of winter. We know Bill loved his family dearly. We will miss you Bill. - Posted by: Don & Gwen Wolf (Cousin) on: Jun 04, 2017
