ANREA LISE ZASLOV Anrea Lise Zaslov, born February 19, 1971, was tragically taken from us on July 15, 2017. She was a vibrant, vivacious, generous soul with an infectious laugh and an undeniable zest for living her life. She danced like no one was watching, worked as though she did not need the money, loved like she had never been hurt and lived every day to its fullest, like it was heaven on earth. Anrea grew up in South Winnipeg, attending Oakenwald Elementary, Pembina Crest Junior High and Vincent Massey Collegiate in Fort Garry. She then attended the University of Winnipeg, obtaining her Bachelor's of Arts Degree with a major in Political Science in 1991. She was also an esteemed graduate of The Creative Communications program at Red River Community College, and published a journal for caregivers entitled Diabetes Unscripted as her graduating project. Anrea had the innate ability to connect with everyone on every level; her greatest strength was giving strength and encouragement to others, regardless of the situation. Her positive energy, caring nature and gentle disposition were surpassed only by the size of her kind, loving heart. In addition to her entrepreneurial spirit, her professional affiliations with numerous local, regional and provincial organizations included Osborne House, The Aviation Museum at YWG, the Annual Walk for ALS, and CancerCare Manitoba. In her role as Publisher and Editor for Best Version Media, Anrea's lifelong talent for bringing people she touched together was realized in the production and distribution of a monthly community driven publication entitled 'Neighbours of Bridgwater' servicing the residents of that southwest Winnipeg municipality. She was fearless in every sense, feisty to the finish, undeterred in her rose-coloured resolve and was forever a free spirit. She was a gifted poet, pianist and published author who loved to dance, sing, act and laugh. She turned every challenge into an opportunity, always querying "What if?", making every moment count, resourceful and the eternal optimist. She left her quirky, irresistible and indelible mark on everyone she touched and will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her. Anrea is predeceased by her grandparents, Dora Zaslavsky and Gertie and Charlie Frankelson and her father Murray Zaslov. She is survived by her mother Marly Zaslov, sister Shannon Aceman, nephew Ryan Aceman, her aunt and uncle June and Jack Buckwold, their son Jarad Buckwold and a tightly knit group of her closest lifelong friends affectionately known as TTG. "Speed bonnie boat like a bird on a wing, onward the sailors cry. Carry the lass who's born to be queen over the sea to Skye." Gone too soon but never to be forgotten. May her spirit and memory forever be a blessing. A graveside service will take place at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 20, 2017 at Rosh Pina Memorial Park at 2795 Main Street, Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Diabetes Canada and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Winnipeg.

  • The world has truly lost a wonderful human being and such a bright star. Look for her star in the sky Marley as it will be the brightest one. I truly consider it to have been a gift to me and a privilegeto have known Andrea as a coworker, employer and then as a friend. She was a gift to this world and all that knew hew, kindness, love for all and compassion were her middle name. She made everyone around her feel loved, cared for, considered and included and she had the most incredible gift to be able to connect at every level with everyone. All who knew her have lost a great gift. You should feel so very proud of the wonderful human being you raised and gave to the world...gone far too soon but God only takes the best RIP - Posted by: Carol ellerbeck (Friend and former coworker and employer ) on: Jul 20, 2017

  • Our journey as friends began while taking the Public Relations and Management program at the University of Winnipeg in 2004. Her feisty personality, quirky sense of humour and infectious laugh captured my heart from the moment we met. We collaborated on many assigned group projects. I enjoyed our synergy and creative minds when we worked on a project and/or assignment together. We joked about our unique collaborativeness referring to it as "Ying and Yang" or "Ebony & Ivory". When Anrea set her mind to do something, there was no stopping her. Her determination and passion were contagious. I will cherish the fond memories we had together and the dancing we did to celebrate life's victories, milestones and accomplishments. Dance with the angels my dear friend. You will be greatly missed but always remembered. Love you oxoxo - Posted by: Sandra Davidson (Friend) on: Jul 20, 2017

  • Hello Marly, It is so long since we have been in touch. Your mother and stepfather used to live below me at One Evergreen Place. Your daughter was one of the wonderful children that were under my care when I was the director of the Tuxedo Children's Day Camp. She was a delightful girl. I recall you picking her up for lunch, we did not have the capability to serve lunch to the children. Aside from this tragedy I hope all is well with you, Marly. • Anrea was the epitomy of a great encourager. Her soul stood tall in this world that needed to be lifted up. Her laugh brought joy to people that were hurting and her voice made you feel like someone was listening and really cared. I was privileged to meet Anrea in my sensitive teen years and I appreciated her wisdom and zest for life. The world is going to miss this spunky and generous soul. I know I will. Good bye my dear friend. - Posted by: Bill (Friend) on: Jul 20, 2017
