Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROBERT KENNETH MILLER On Saturday, July 15, 2017, Robert Kenneth Miller passed away peacefully at the Grace Hospice in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Ken was born on June 19, 1931 in St. Catharine's, Ontario. Ken was predeceased by his first wife Agnus in 1979 and his sister-in-law Elaine McKenzie in 2015. Ken will be sadly missed by his wife Donna Miller, brother-in-law Donald McKenzie, nephew Ian McKenzie, nephew Russell McKenzie (Kim), great-nieces, Katelyn and Taylor, and great-nephew Ryan, as well as many friends and other family. Ken proudly served in the Canadian Armed Forces from 1951 to 1957. Ken held various jobs across Canada before settling in Vancouver, BC. In Vancouver, he was employed by Titan Steel and Wire Mill for over 30 years and retired in 1992. Ken was a dedicated and hardworking employee and his work ethic never changed. Ken married Donna in 1991 and they settled in Penticton, BC in 1993. They spent many years travelling and enjoying retirement eventually moving to Winnipeg, MB in 2001 to be closer to family. They continued to travel with family enjoying many cruises and trips down south. They would have shared 27 years of marriage on July 25, 2017. Ken enjoyed photography, fishing, and family get-togethers. In the last few years, his winters consisted of cheering on our Winnipeg Jets and visiting with friends in his current building complex. The Jets lost their number one fan and Paul Maurice lost his number one critic! Ken enjoyed the company and was very proud of his great-nieces and nephew. He was always proud of them and their accomplishments. Ken was quite social and enjoyed chatting with everyone including the nurses at the Grace Hospice. A special thank you to all those who visited with Ken at the Hospice and over the last few months keeping his spirits up and providing wonderful fellowship. Thank you to the staff at Grace Hospice for their care and compassion. Ken handled his illness with grace, knowing that God was in control. He never complained and enjoyed each day he was given. He felt blessed for friends and family and most of all his lovely wife Donna. A funeral service will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, MB on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor John Feakes officiating.
