(MYRNA) JOYCE FINCH August 29, 1929 - July 15, 2017 Joyce passed peacefully at Victoria Hospital, at the age of 87, after a long yet courageous battle with Alzheimer's. She was predeceased by her parents and brother Ernie. She is survived, and will be greatly missed, by her loving husband Lee, sister Anita, stepsisters Joan, Pat and Peggy, son Bary and his wife Leslie, two granddaughters Amanda and Haley, as well as many nieces, nephews and their children. Joyce was born in Edmonton, but moved to Winnipeg as a young child where she grew up, and later worked at Eaton's and Bird Construction. Her family moved on to Vancouver, but Joyce remained in Winnipeg to start a family with the love of her life, Lee. They raised their son, Bary, and enjoyed over 63 years of marriage, surrounded by family and friends. Joyce was very generous with her time and helped others through many different organizations. She was a highly engaged member of the Rebekah Lodge for many years, with volunteering and holding all the offices. Joyce was also very involved in volunteer work with the Victoria Hospital, and by the end of her volunteer service had become a lifetime member of the Hospital's Guild. A celebration of Joyce's life will be held on Thursday, July 27 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Victoria Hospital Guild, or the Confidence Rebekah Lodge #40.
