Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryTHEA CHRISTA ROSENKRANZ Thea passed away peacefully at the Victoria General Hospital on June 26, 2017 at the age of 90. She was born to Kurt and Liesbeth Steiner on March 31, 1927 in Chemnitz, Germany where she lived until the end of the war. In 1945, Thea moved with her parents and sister to Yugoslavia where she met her future husband, Fritz. They returned to Zwickau, later moved to West Germany, and finally immigrated to Canada in 1960. Fritz and Thea worked together in their business, Sargent Meat Market, until retirement. She was predeceased by Fritz on December 19, 1999. Thea was a thoughtful and caring friend, an astute business woman, resilient, tenacious and resolute in character. She strove for independence to her last days while living at Dakota House. Her memory will be treasured in the hearts of her family in Germany: her sister Edith Weber, nephew Michael Weber (Annette), great-nephew Tobias Weber, and nephew Werner Rosenkranz (Rita). Thea was authentic in the best sense of this word. She gave advice when advice was needed. She gave support when it was needed. She listened even when it came to difficult matters and she will be missed. Special thanks to Dr. Maharaj. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 1 at 1:00 p.m. at Dakota House, 1145 Dakota St., Winnipeg. Ruhe in Frieden, liebe Thea.
