WAYNE HOLMSTROM It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Wayne Holmstrom - a dear husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother-in-law and friend. Wayne left behind his wife Judie, son Ken (Jessie) and his three grandchildren Morgan and Ashleigh Holmstrom, and Kade Clifford (Destiny), sisters-in-law Gisele (Bob) Hirayama and Yvonne Gura, brother-in-law Louis Boux (Mary), nephews Roman and Gregory Gura, Jeffrey (Andrea) and Griffin (Heidi) Hirayama, niece Rachelle Gura, and stepfather Edward Chandler. He was predeceased by his daughter Kathryne Ann, brother David Lawrence, mother Helen Holmstrom Chandler, father Lawrence, and mother-in-law Rosalie Boux. Wayne's life was all about family and friends. He and Judie were married for 49 years and shared a loving relationship. He enjoyed his children and grandchildren very much, they were the apple of his eye. He was a very gentle and loving person. His smile was infectious and although very quiet, he always knew the right words to say...at most times. He enjoyed working with his coworkers at Western Paper Box where he worked for over 50 years. He loved playing golf especially with his son. He was an avid fan of all sports, loved watching them on TV from his lazy boy chair, and would talk sports to anyone who would listen. He knew facts and trivia about Winnipeg like no other; a true Winnipegger. He made a positive impact on many people and he will be greatly missed. Au revoir Wayne. A bientot. A service in celebration of his life will be held at the Mosaic Event Centre at 1006 Nairn Avenue on August 8, 2017 at 7:00 p.m.
