JOAN ALMA WENSEL (nee MASON) Joan Wensel, 87, of Netley, MB, passed away July 20, 2017 after a long battle with dementia at Tudor House Personal Care Home in Selkirk. She was born April 30, 1930 in Brandon, MB. She married Wally Wensel, April 21, 1951. They lived in Winnipeg until 1977, when they moved to their farm. Joan was predeceased by her parents Mary (nee Compton) and Henry Mason, Wally, her husband of 52 years, her brother Richard, and brother-in-law Olie Bjornson. Joan is survived by her three children Karen, Bob (Heather) and Julie, sister Bettie, brother Chuck (Millie), four grandchildren David, Elizabeth, Melissa and Rachel, and numerous nieces and their families. She loved her time living on the farm near Netley with her chickens, sheep and Tiger her cat. Dad always thought she could be a Jeopardy champ, since she always knew the answers, often before the contestants. She was a reader and interested in current affairs. She enjoyed travelling, camping and being outdoors. Special thanks to the caring staff at Tudor House, where Joan lived for the past seven years. As per her wishes, a private family Celebration of Life was held.
