Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMONTY BLUE ROBINSON Tragically, on December 22, 2016 in Calgary, AB, Monty Robinson lost his battle with addiction. Predeceased by his father Pete Robinson, mother Linda Bourgeois (nee Blue) and stepfather Roy Bourgeois. He is survived by his grandma Pauline Blue, his daughter Alexia and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Monty was born in Vancouver, BC on December 20, 1978 and moved to Manitoba in 1980. He spent his childhood in Warren, where he enjoyed playing with his dog Sam and being his dad's shadow. The first in a series of tragedies that marred Monty's life struck at age nine when his dad and hero passed away suddenly. Monty graduated from Stonewall Collegiate in 1996 and spent time working in Winnipeg, until 1999, when his mom and stepfather were killed in a car accident. These tragedies precipitated Monty's lifelong battle with addiction. Trying to start anew, he moved to Edmonton in 2002, eventually making the move to Calgary in 2014. Sadly, despite several attempts at treatment, Monty succumbed to his demons two days after his 38th birthday. People who knew and loved Monty will attest that, when not in the throes of addiction, he was intelligent, witty, fun loving and tried to see the best in people. A graveside memorial and interment is taking place at 1:00 p.m. on August 8, 2017 at the Stonewall Cemetery. People who wish to share memories are invited to go to Pizza Den for lunch after the interment. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Main Street Project, Addictions Foundation of Manitoba or the Canadian Mental Health Association.

Monty Unfortunately like Myself went through a Childhood incident and in my case many many PTSD inducing moments before the age of 12. Waking up to his Father's death at Age 9 absolutely Crushed the Poor Kid. He never recovered and never was Diagnosed or Treated which is Key for treating Trauma based addiction. Take care Monty Say hi too Your Mom for me she was one of very few Aunt or Uncles who treated me as a Equal despite my Facial differences and Dark Upbringing. Love You Both. - Posted by: Che Robinson (Cousin) on: Nov 17, 2024

Monty was the light of his parents lives. After trying for so long to conceive, his parents were thrilled when he was born. He was a beautiful, bright eyed child who go loved his family.
