He was an amazing father, son, brother and husband. Corey was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He attended Laverendrye Elementary school and graduated from Grant Park High School. Corey's passion was art. A talent he clearly developed with help of his father who is also a talented artist. Throughout his youth he enjoyed the pursuit of body building and continued that pursuit into adulthood. But his true interest was video games. He was on the frontier of the gaming movement. It was such a passion that it propelled him toward a career in designing video combat games. Corey graduated from the Vancouver Film School in Vancouver, British Columbia in 2006. His legacy lives on in the games in which he was a key developer. Games such as Mass Effect 2, and 3 and Anthem were just a few of the games he helped develop. He was employed with Bioware in Edmonton until his untimely death. Corey was a kind, thoughtful and loving man. He was selfless and humble. His generosity was unlimited Corey had a dream to be a video game designer. He took a chance in going to school and then pursuing his dream. He gained employment and was able to fulfill his dream. He took a chance, lived it and excelled at it. Corey leaves behind his son Cain, his wife Laura, parents, Kelly and David, sister Carly and brother Andrew. He also leaves behind numerous family and friends. The family wants to give special thanks to Corey's lifelong friend Blair and lifelong friend Davis. Corey was a very "investigative" child, who loved to have experiences involving exposure to various events. The more fun they were, brought out the inquiring Corey. Many fun times we all had at the Pan-Am pool together, on Friday nights followed by a trip to Wendy's . In spite of Corey's brush with his many successes especially with the World Video game hit "ANTHEM", Corey had the most likeable personality - a "Mr. Congeniality" you might say, involving relationships with people. Corey never doubted his ability to pursue his passion for developing Video games. He went for the "gold" by acquiring the much needed background in education, which aided him with his natural proclivity to satisfy the "hunger" in pursuit of his passion. Corey's death leaves a gap in many people's lives and the world's loss too. The pain and sorrow are beared by all of us ... especially, those the closest to him! Condolences to his wife and child, father, mother, brother and sister. A multitude of extended family grieves along side with them. - Posted by: Randy Fisher (Great Uncle) on: Aug 11, 2017

Our most sincere condolences go out to Dave and Kelly and their loved ones. Life has its own way of rupturing our lives, without warning, without restraint.
