Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBARBARA SPRAGUE December 27, 1933 - August 7, 2017 Barb passed away peacefully with family at her side on August 7, 2017. She is survived by her sons, Doug (Janis), Bill (Kim) and John (Barb), and her granddaughters, Taylor, Lena, Kailey and Julie. She was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Ron, on July 28 this year. Barb was born in Saint John, NB on December 27, 1933. She married Ron in July, 1956, and they moved to Hamilton, Regina, and finally Winnipeg in 1967. She worked in the medical records department at Grace Hospital, and completed the study program to become a Medical Records Librarian. Barb spent time as a stay at home mom, then, at age 40, enrolled in university full time, and graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Nursing at age 45 in 1979. She worked as a nurse at Grace Hospital, Saint John Regional Hospital, and Health Sciences Centre until taking early retirement in about 1990. Barb enjoyed spending time at the cottage at Lac Lu, golfing, and travelling. They were able to travel to many places around the world, and spent nine years at their winter home in Florida after retirement. The family would like to thank the staff at Oakview Place Extendicare for their care over the past eight years. A private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba.

Bill, Kim, Taylor and Kailey, Glenn and I share our sincere condolences in the loss of your mother and grandmother. I was graced with many family stories and adventures through my time with Kim and know there is both profound loss and peace with your beloved's passing. May you all enjoy fond memories, laughter in sharing stories for years to come, and peace in the belief there is a better place beyond.
