Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNELLIE SYLVIA FILL Nellie Sylvia Fill died peacefully, in Toronto, Ontario, on August 9, 2017, at the age of 99. Nellie is survived by her immediate family, Les (Son), Donna, Robert, Carrie-Lynn and Madison Fill. Nellie is also survived, by her many nieces, nephews, and cousins throughout Canada. Nellie is also preceded in death, by both her parents, her husband John Fill, son Gregory, and four brothers, Mike, Paul, Jake, and John Andriash, and their respective wives. Nellie was a caring mother and wife, to her immediate family. She will be sadly missed. Prayers will be held at the Cropo Funeral Home, 1442 Main St., Winnipeg, MB, Friday, August 18 starting at 7:00 p.m. A funeral is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., August 19, at St. Vladimir and Olga Cathedral, 115 McGregor St., Winnipeg. A short lunch will be held after the funeral at Canad Inns Garden City, 2100 McPhillips St., Winnipeg after the funeral. All are welcome.

I met Gregory Fill in 1985, when he was traveling as a musician. He and his friends were invited by my room mate at the time. I moved to Winnipeg in 1986 and Greg and I stayed in contact up until he moved to Vancouver. In 1995, I met his mother Nellie, after I had found out Greg had passed away. She invited me to have tea with her at her residence in the Maples, here in Winnipeg. She had me paint a portrait of Greg. Last time I saw her. - Posted by: Terrice Holmwood (Friend) on: Jan 28, 2020
