Born: Jun 16, 1947
Date of Passing: Aug 14, 2017
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLINDA JEFFREY (née BROWN) It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Linda Jeffrey, our mother, Nana and friend, on August 14, 2017, at the age of 70. Linda was predeceased by her husband Allan, and parents, Robert and Margaret. She is survived by sons, Ryan and Cory, daughter-in-law Sylvie, beloved grandchildren, Xavier and Elise, sister Marilyn, sister-in-law Marie and brother-in-law Gary. Linda is also survived by many nephews, nieces and countless friends. Linda was born June 16, 1947 in St. James, and her family moved to Brandon while she was still young. They returned to Winnipeg years later where she met Allan, whom she married in 1972 and started a family with in Charleswood. In 1986, they began construction of a summer cabin near Victoria Beach, which would later become their retirement home. Linda started her career at MB Taxation before becoming a secretary in the Assiniboine South School Division, spending many years at the Van Walleghem and Pacific Junction schools. Linda loved spending entire summers with her kids at the cabin, enjoying the sandy beaches, golf and other activities, and especially time with her beach friends. She was very social and loved spending time with her close friends, whether on the Victoria Beach Golf Course or at one of countless dinner parties. Linda had a kind and generous soul, and would stop at nothing to help family or friends in need. Her selfless giving continued well into her later days where she kept a busy schedule volunteering in the beach community, baking, and doing craftwork for family and friends. There was nothing she loved more than spending time with, and caring for, her beloved grandchildren, whom she would spoil at every possible opportunity. She will be missed greatly by all, and will leave a void in our lives forever. A celebration of Linda's life will be held at Breezy Bend Country Club, 7620 Roblin Blvd., on Tuesday, August 22 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Linda's memory to the Variety Children's Heart Centre care of The Children's Hospital Foundation, CE501-840 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3A 1S1, 204-787-4000, www.goodbear.mb.ca

I was so shocked to hear the news of Linda. I was with her just a couple of weeks ago, at one of our get-togethers. We worked together in taxation years ago and our group usually got together at least twice a year. She was always cheerful and thoughtful. I am out of town visiting my daughter and just got the news today, so I am not able to attend the service, but offer my condolences to the family. - Posted by: Anna Phillips-Cyr (Friend and co-worker) on: Aug 22, 2017

Dear Ryan , Cory and family, We were sorry to hear from the passing of your Mom and Grandma, I met Linda and Al in Charleswood and they told me and my family that they were looking for a house and we knew where one was for sale across from our house on Hilton Street, they bought it and lived many years and we met every once awhile when I travelled home to visit my family, also met a lot at the Lake. Linda was a great person always ready to help family and friends. She will have lots to say and tell Al when they play a round of golf and sit and watch the Sunset with their homemade beer. Our sincere sympathy to Ryan, Cory and Sylvie, and Marilyn on your loss. Linda was a very special cousin and mentor to me and we spent a lot of time together in our younger years. I was so thrilled and honoured to be one of Linda's bridesmaids. We had many great family visits traveling from Dryden, Ontario to Brandon and then to Silver Heights and Charleswood. Miss you forever. Love, Cousin Janice & Carl - Posted by: Janice & Carl Hutchison (Cousin) on: Aug 21, 2017

Ryan and Cory, Your mom was nothing short of being an amazing person. She gave her all to those around her. But most of all she loved you with her whole heart. And then along came a daughter-in-law and grandchildren. What more could she ask for? May she rest in peace with "Big Al". They will have lots to talk about! She was a very special, influential person who showed and taught me a lot. She will be missed. Be strong. Love Carol-Anne and Hugh - Posted by: Carol-Anne and Hugh Hansen (Friend) on: Aug 17, 2017

Norm and I will miss Linda very much. She was a great gal. There was very few times when she would come golfing without a plate full of goodies and made sure there was enough for the Victoria Beach Golf staff. Golfing with Linda was always a hoot. She will be missed. Rest in Peace. - Posted by: Louise Hintz (Friend and golfing buddy) on: Aug 17, 2017

Linda was such a kind and gentle lady and will be greatly missed. When we first immigrated to Canada and our furniture went missing, she completely furnished our home, mobilizing other friends to help, even although she did not know us! She continued to help us settle with many kind gestures and always kept in touch at Christmas time. We offer our sincere condolences and sympathy to Ryan and Corry and the family. - Posted by: Patricia and John Tennent (Friend) on: Aug 17, 2017

I have no words to describe this huge loss. Linda and I were partners at work, at school and she was a dear and valued friend in life. She was a beautiful lady, inside and out, and I will miss so much as will so many others. Sincerely condolences to her sons and family and many other friends. We will remember her ... - Posted by: Lois Forzley (Friend) on: Aug 17, 2017

Linda was one of the greatest people I have ever meant. Always had time and great advice, taught me most of my baking skills, and so many other things. I have so many cherished memories. I babysat Ryan and Cory and always felt like an extended member of family with Al and Linda, I loved spending time with the family. My thoughts and greatest sympathy goes out to Ryan & Cory and family. With Love. - Posted by: Kim Meese-Scharf () on: Aug 17, 2017
