Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEVA EILEEN SISSONS (nee MCMILLAN) On Thursday, August 17, 2017, Eva Eileen Sissons peacefully passed away at the Portage District General Hospital, at the age of 93 years. Predeceased by her husband Frank, and her daughter Nola Jane. She is lovingly remembered by her children Grant (Valerie) Sissons of Portage la Prairie, Lorna (John) Andrews of Vancouver, Don (Kim) Sissons of Portage la Prairie and Mark Sissons of Vancouver; grandchildren Scott Sissons (Hollie Hatt-Sissons), Meghan Andrews (Alain-Remi Lajeunesse), David Andrews (Stephanie Brule), Erin Andrews, Lisa (Alex) Brown, Blye Sissons (Amy) and Kale Sissons; great-grandchildren Mackenna Sissons and Alex Hatt; Gabrielle Lajeunesse; Emersyn and Keidon Sissons; Harlan and Weston Brown; and her sister Lila (Jerie) Cavers of Crofton, BC. Eva was born and spent her early years in Bagot, MB. She moved to Portage to attend the Portage Collegiate, where she met her future husband, Frank Sissons. They married in 1947 and forged a lifelong partnership that included raising a family and growing a thriving farm business. She was also a devoted member of Trinity United Church and active with the UCW. Our family are grateful to the caregivers from Portage Home Care and the staff at both Portage General Hospital and Lions Prairie Manor. We would especially like to thank Sandra Wallace and Betty and Bill Kramble, whose friendship meant the world to her. A memorial service will take place on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. at Trinity United Church, Portage la Prairie, with Rev. Julie Baker officiating. As expressions of sympathy, if friends so wish, donations may be made in Eva's memory to The Children's Hospital Foundation of Manitoba, CE 501, 840 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, MB R3A 1S1, or the Trinity United Church Memorial Fund, 15 Tupper Street South, Portage la Prairie, MB R1N 1W7.
