I just found out about Darwin’s passing by searching the internet. I am so sorry for their loss....he he had a beautiful wife and children. Darwin was a philosopher, a wonderful caring person. I was lucky to meet him in a very sad and depressed part of my life. He was able to inspire me to become a good and happy person. I was so sad. Truly, people like Darwin are one in a million. I learned of Darwin’s passing today and am so devastated...... Please, to all his family, I offer my deepest sympathy. Lise - Posted by: Lise Trudel (Friend) on: Apr 17, 2019

Darwin was a very cool guy. So much so that I purchased a philosophy book, thick enough to stun an ox as they say, based solely on some brief comments Darwin made. We worked briefly together in Winnipeg. RIP Darwin. - Posted by: deborah sterling (former co-worker) on: Oct 04, 2017

My sincere condolences to the family. Darwin had a whimsical sense of humour, and was very well informed on so many subjects. I always loved having a comic jousting match with him or fiery debate, and quite often both during his many welcome visits to the Johnsons' home parties.... - Posted by: Angelina Bolhuis (Friend in Hudson QC) on: Oct 02, 2017

To the Dunford Family Words cannot express how sorry we are to hear about Darwin. He was a great friend and will be missed. We have had lovely dinner parties and evenings of fun and laughter. He was a great, honest and fantastic person. God bless - Posted by: Gabrielle seguin and Donald Durocher from Montréal Quebec (Friends) on: Sep 17, 2017

I have known Darwin for over 20 years, working with him under INCO/Vale and kept in close touch even through our retirements and his recent medical treatments. He was a very close friend and I am very sad with his sudden passing. Darwin was always ready, with his great humour and quick wit. He was an incredible person and loved by all. I have many incredible stories about Darwin I hope to share with his family, while we worked together in Indonesia and in Canada. We shared many glasses of red wine together, laughed about the fact that he loved French wine and I kept pestering to extend his palette to taste Australian Wines. We had great times, challenging times and even enjoyed a bit of pool time together in Bali after being evacuated from Sorowako plant site. Unfortunately as I am based in New Caledonia, I could not attend the service. I wish I could have been there. Our heart's are with you, Darwin will be missed. I worked with Darwin in Thompson, Manitoba and was sad to hear of his passing. I enjoyed his company very much. He was well read and had a very interesting perspective. My thoughts are with his family and friends at this sad time. Ali DeGraves (St. John's NL) - Posted by: Ali DeGraves (Friend) on: Sep 15, 2017
