DIANE MARIE LUCILLE SEGUIER (nee LAURIN) Peacefully at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg, after a reoccurring battle with cancer, it is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Diane, wife of the late Jean-Leon (John) Seguier (d. 2007). Diane was taken into the arms of our Lord on Sunday, September 10, 2017 at the age of 67 years. Remaining to cherish Diane's memory are her brother Philip (Pat); stepsister Denise Novog; stepbrothers, Marcel and Andy Guay; brother-in-law Alain (Bernice) Seguier, as well as numerous aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends. Notably Eileen, Dave and Rita who helped her through her final challenging months and were like family to Diane. She couldn't say enough about the care and friendship she received from you all. She was predeceased by her parents Hector and Dora Laurin (nee Dusablon); stepmother Louise Laurin (nee Guay); sister and brother-in-law Helene and Jean-Marc Boulet; stepbrother Raymond Guay; uncle Leo Dusablon (Francis); father-in-law and mother-in-law Georges and Etiennette Seguier; brothers-in-law Patrick and Michel Seguier and Raymond Novog. Although Diane and John never had children of their own, they definitely knew what it was like as they were parents to many kids over the years, caring for them in group homes in places like Fort Frances, ON and Summerside, PEI. It's good to know that there are a bunch of people out there that are better off because of the values that Diane and John instilled in them as children. That's a legacy to be proud of. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, September 18, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Paul the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 2400 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, with Rev. Fr. Eric Giddins presiding. Interment will follow in Assumption Roman Catholic Cemetery, 3990 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg. The family would like to thank the staff at CancerCare Manitoba and the Health Sciences Centre for helping Diane and keeping her comfortable in her final days. Donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9, or an organization of your choice. Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • Whenever you met Diane, she always had a smile, and a cheery outlook. She believed the best to the end, and was a tenacious person who chose to not believe in seeing the bad in others. She was quite the lady to have known. The God of all comfort strengthen the bereaved. I know you were richer for knowing this fine lady. - Posted by: Gus, Grace Kokoschke (acquaintence) on: Sep 16, 2017
