WENDY IRENE HOLM (nee GAUDHE) September 22, 1953 September 28, 2017 Peacefully, with family by her side, in the evening of Thursday, September 28, 2017, aged 64, this strong and beautiful woman began her journey into heaven, greeted by many loved ones who had gone before her. Wendy leaves behind many wonderful memories, left to be cherished by her husband Brian Holm; her three children, Cory Bell-Froese and his wife Rachel; Jeffrey Bell and his wife Jessica with grandchildren, Jacob, Jewel and Jemma Lee Bell; Rebecca Holm and her boyfriend Jules; her only sister, Donna Barclay and her husband Stan; niece and nephew Michael and Melissa Barclay. She is also survived by her in-laws, Walter and Frances Holm and the rest of the Holm family, along with numerous cousins, many other relatives and close friends who will miss her dearly. She was predeceased by her parents, Donald and Adeena (Deena) Gaudhe and grandparents, Wilhelm and Mathilda Weiss, along with multiple aunts and uncles. As difficult as it is for us to say goodbye, it comforts our family knowing that it will bring Wendy great joy to be reunited with her loved ones again. Wendy grew up in Winnipeg and lived in the bustling family home on Sherburn Street for 18 years. Eventually she moved out with her first husband Alex, whom she had her two sons, Cory and Jeffrey with. Over the years, she moved multiple times and finally settled back in Winnipeg. There, she met her second husband Brian, whom she had her daughter Rebecca with. Together they lived in Charleswood for the last 28 years. Wendy worked for the Government of Manitoba for the majority of her professional life, moving her way up to the Administrative and Finance Manager of the former Environmental Services department. She took pride in her work and loved sharing her expertise with her colleagues. Unfortunately, she was forced to retire early due to her eye condition, Retinitis Pigmentosa, which would eventually take away the majority of her vision. Although Wendy became legally blind, she never let it hold her back from everything she loved, such as babysitting the grandkids, cooking, gardening, knitting, getting her hair and nails done and shopping sprees. Wendy was a book of knowledge, always sharing priceless stories, valued advice and words of encouragement with everyone she knew. She loved her large backyard and enjoyed sitting on the swing with her dogs, soaking up the sun, admiring her flowers and chatting on the phone with family and friends. Wendy was a strong, brilliant, generous and graciously kind woman. She was an amazing wife, mother, sister, daughter, grandmother, auntie, godmother and loyal friend who we will deeply miss. We know you are in a better place now, granted with perfect vision for you to watch over and protect us for the rest of our lives. We will miss your infectious smile, laughter and unconditional love. You will forever remain in our hearts. We love you forever and always. A private family interment will be held. Should you wish to attend, please contact immediate family for details.
