CHARMAINE WATT The bright light and energy of Charmaine N. Watt (nee Putnam) passed from this life, on to the next, on October 9, 2017. She leaves behind a loving daughter Kym (Eric Sommers), son Yuma, and grandchildren Josh, Zac, and Jake as her legacy with her husband of 49 years, Gordon C. Watt. As a Manitoba artist, she taught and inspired so many. Her motto being "to share what you know, so others can grow" was testament to her passion. She believed art to be "therapy for the soul". Her paintings, carvings and pottery grace innumerable walls and mantles, providing great joy to all. She will be remembered and cherished by all who knew her. Her spirit will live on in our hearts. Her memorial will be at Anavets Assiniboia #283, on 3584 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3K 0Z8 starting at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 12, 2017. She requests donations to be made to Before the Bridge K9 Rescue (www.beforethebridge.ca), in lieu of flowers. I only just found out about Charmaine's passing. I recall after one of my art classes that she taught that she telephoned me to say that she was pleased and encouraged by my progress. That really inspired me to keep on practicing. Thanks Charmaine, you remain forever in my memory. - Posted by: Judith Roe (friend ) on: Dec 16, 2018

Charmaine blessed us with a water color painting of our cottage. Every day we look at it and it gives us such a pleasure to have said that we were blessed by her. She and Gordon welcomed us into their loving home and shared so much with us. We are so sorry to hear of her passing and wish her and her family peace, love and joy knowing that she touch so many lives! Bless you Charmaine and until we meet again! I contemplate "The Barn", which has hung on my wall for perhaps a decade or more, for a moment today, and as it has and continues to this day, it brings me joy just as Charmaine had intended and hoped. Rest in peace, beautiful woman. - Posted by: Albert Leclaire (none) on: Oct 11, 2017

Charmaine was a dedicated volunteer at the Stevenson-Brittania Adult Literacy Program in the late 1990's. Her bubbly personality was a huge asset to the program. In addition to helping students with their reading and writing skills she took time for art projects. One memorable Easter she brought all the equipment needed to design and paint eggs. The students talked about that afternoon for weeks! She will be missed. - Posted by: Linda McKenzie () on: Oct 11, 2017
