He will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his wife Marjorie; his children, Walter, Sheri and Katherine and his grandson, Daniel Joseph. He is also lovingly remembered by his siblings, Edward and Sophia, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Walter and Janina. Joseph was born in Drumheller, Alberta then spent his childhood on the family farm in Paswegin, Saskatchewan. Based in Alert and Resolute Bay, Nunavut then Winnipeg, Manitoba, his life work was over 30 years of service with Transport Canada for the Government of Canada then NAV CANADA, where he retired in 2002. His commitment to public service was formally recognized by Prime Minister the Right Honourable Jean Chrétien. Marj. and family. Our sincere condolences on Joe's passing. We remember him well and with fondness during our time at St. James Anglican Church. Joe was a dedicated member of that Parish if there ever was one. Unfortunately a family commitment prevents us from being at the service, however please know you are in our prayers during this difficult time. - Posted by: Jae & Rhoda Eadie () on: Oct 14, 2017

I was saddened to hear of Joe's passing. I first met Joe in Resolute Bay in 1970. He was a dedicated employee and was an asset where ever he went. He was knowledgeable in many areas. I was impressed by his constant willingness to help and provide opinions and advise to anyone who asked. I appreciated very much his contributions to our book the "Untold Stories". An fine indication of Joe's character was evident when we asked for a picture of the contributors as they were today. Joe Quickly responded asking in typical Joe fashion if it would be ok if he sent a picture that included his Grandson.....of course were happy to receive that picture and those stories. Joe will be remembered fondly by many people across this country. - Posted by: Jim Blomquist (friend) on: Oct 14, 2017
