Many years ago, Betty married Jack Marshall. Jack is my Uncle and was married to my Mom's sister Margaret who passed away at a young age. I have wonderful memories of listening to Betty and Jack and my Mom and Dad playing rummy cubes on a Friday evening. The conversations were always spirited and sprinkled with laughter. When my Dad and Jack passed, Betty and my Mom continued their very close friendship. Mom considered Betty her sister. Betty often joined Mom and I for our Sunday dinners and her company was always appreciated and so interesting. My friend Michael and my sister Margaret were often with us and they could not get over how young at heart Betty always was. She was six years older than my Mom but she was forever helping my Mom into the car and making sure that she was looked after. Those dinners continued after my Mom passed. Betty loved life and was always so upbeat and positive. She walked with a spring in her step until the day she went into Victoria Hospital. Betty, I will miss you. You were always so loving, so joyful, so courageous and always ready for a good giggle. I loved your stories about your past but I most loved that you lived your life to the fullest. Warmest hugs on your new journey! Sue Fonseca - Posted by: Susan Fonseca (Jack's Niece) on: Oct 20, 2017

Betty Baggot (Marshall) has been a friend of my Mom, (Sheila Brodie) since they were approximately 20 years old, which is over 75 years ago. Throughout that time they were such close friends, and I always remember Betty being a big part of our life. I was at her home for tea and visits so many times over the years with my parents, and she was often at our home as well. I remember my Mom getting all dressed up in a long gown when Diana and Charles were married, and walking over to Betty's home on Elmhurst where Betty was also dressed up and they watched the ceremony together, even though it was very late in the evening Winnipeg time. Betty was one of the kindest, most intelligent women I knew - someone who was loved by all. She was so giving and caring, always helping others. She worked so hard for the legion, and many other groups. She was very hardworking and always seemed to have a smile on her face, and had such an easy laugh. My Mom and I were at Betty's not long ago and she was still the most gracious hostess - baked us a delicious lemon meringue pie and we had many laughs. Rest in peace Betty - you were much loved by so many. The Brodie's will all raise a toast to you, and thank you for being such a wonderful friend to our parents Bud & Sheila, as well as to all of us. You were always interested in our lives, and our children. Heaven has gained an amazing angel - you will be missed. Much love, Diane. xoxoxo - Posted by: Diane Brodie-Campbell (Family Friend ) on: Oct 19, 2017
