ELIZABETH (LIESE) BECKER (nee THIESSEN) August 30, 1920 - October 21, 2017 With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother at the age of 97, peacefully at Calvary Place. She leaves behind her husband of 67 years, Peter; her daughter Carla, son Harry, grandchildren, Tony (Shireen), Nathan (Amy), Tara (Nick), Lauren (Dan), Leah (Rob) and Lindsay (Brady), great-grandchildren Taylor, Jayde and Lincoln, siblings Lydia Voth, Agatha (Jack) Dyck, Margaret Funk, and sisters-in-law Kay Thiessen and Hedy Thiessen. Elizabeth was predeceased by her loving parents, Aron and Margaretha, sibling brothers Aaron and John, sister Anne Braun, brothers-in-law Bernie Funk, John Braun, Henry Voth, and son-in-law Dale Beaudoin. The family wishes to give thanks to the staff at Calvary Place for their care and support. A funeral service will be held at First Mennonite Church, 922 Notre Dame Avenue on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with reception to follow. Burial will take place following reception at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4000 Portage Avenue. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba.
