LEONARD ARCHIBALD REID 1938 - 2017 Peacefully, the morning of Tuesday, November 14, 2017, with family at his side, Leonard slipped into the caring hands of God. Leonard leaves behind his sisters Shirley (Blake) and Darlene (Lee) of Winnipeg; brother Jim (Marilyn) also of Winnipeg and brothers Robert of Taylor, BC, Gerry (Carol) of Mill Bay, BC and Dan (Marlene) of Edmonton, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother Margaret; father Russell, and brother Rodney. Born in Russell, MB, Leonard moved to Winnipeg in 1950. After high school he joined the army (P.P.C.L.I.) and was posted to Germany. Upon release he started working for Paulin Chambers and attained the position of shift supervisor until Paulin Chambers folded. Leonard then operated a food canteen at Piston Ring until his retirement. He spent his later years at Mordens Meadows Trailer Park and enjoyed many friendships. A Celebration of Life will be held at Betelstadur Housing Co-op, 1061 Sargent Avenue, on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. The family wish to thank the Palliative Care Program and the nurses at the St. Boniface Palliative Care Unit for all the kindness directed towards Leonard. And a special thank you to the tenants of Betelstadur for the love and kindness shown Leonard. Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • Dear Jim and Marilyn, Shirley and Blake and all of Leonard's family, I was so sorry to read the news of Len's passing. I have many fond memories of him from the lake and will miss visiting with him as he passed by on his daily walks. Sending my sincere sympathy. • I would like to express my deepest sympathy to Len's family at his passing. He was a special caring sensitive family friend and we'll miss him greatly. He was always thoughtful, the king of networkers supplying us with fresh fish, and blessed us with his delicious homemade relishes and jams. His shared birth date with my husband made June a fun time. My favourite memory of Len is his rendition of dolphin playing charades last Christmas. I'm encouraged that he is with His Saviour now. - Posted by: Cindy Isaak-Ploegman (friend) on: Nov 17, 2017
