GEORGE THOMAS FULLER December 30, 1945 - December 4, 2017 It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of George Fuller, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. George passed away peacefully with his wife and daughters at his side. George is lovingly remembered by his wife Betty, of 47 years; daughters, Sheri (Frank) and Nancy (Mark); granddaughters, Elliet, Quinn and Sasha, as well as extended family and friends. George greatly enjoyed the time he spent in service to his country. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1964. With his work, he lived in various places in Canada and spent three years overseas in Moscow, Russia. In 1988, he retired from the regular force then joined the Reserves until he retired in 2004. George spent his retirement years behind the wheel of his RV travelling through Canada and the US. With his wife at his side as his navigator, they explored the southern states, including the Oregon coastline, during the cold winter months, and came home to roost during the warmer months, splitting their time between Edmonton and Winnipeg with a side trip up to Alaska in 2010. George is remembered by friends and family alike as a man with a great sense of humour. He could always be found by following the laughter in a room and was usually the cause as he always had a new joke to share. He was often sought out for his great advice and was the first one to offer assistance in times of need. His pride and joy was his family and the feeling is mutual. His love knew no bounds and he was always close by with a supportive and encouraging word. Nothing lit up George's face like seeing and talking about his granddaughters and he cherished every moment he spent with them. He was respected by both of his sons-in-law and was always up for quality time out with the boys, whether it was a quiet chat over a drink or visiting a local record store. His hobbies and past times included time spent in nature, fishing and a love of a wide range of movies with his favourite being The Longest Day. A Celebration of Life service will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue in Winnipeg on December 15, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. The family would like to thank the nurses, doctors and palliative care team at Health Sciences Centre, Winnipeg for their care and compassion in George's final days. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society. For those who wish to sign the online Guest Book please visit www.chapellawn.ca Chapel Lawn Funeral Home 204-885-9715

  • I am so very sorry to hear of George's illness and passing. I know how close he and Betty were and how they cherished their family and truly hope they were able to enjoy many of the retirement plans they had so looked forward to. I'm sorry that some of those dreams may not be the same anymore. I always enjoyed working with Betty and listening to her many stories of the wonderful trips they had taken and the great times they shared. She always spoke so fondly about her beloved George and family. I send my deepest condolences to Betty and the family. I keep you all close in my thoughts and prayers.
