Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryIRENE SCHUBERT July 13, 1920 - December 9, 2017 Our beautiful mom, grandma, great-grandma and friend passed away peacefully in her sleep, at Seven Oaks Hospital, in her 98th year (as she would say). Mom was predeceased by her beloved husband Chris, her son-in-law Dave and her great-grandchild Konrad, as well as all of her siblings. Mom will be lovingly remembered by her children - Lottie (Conrad), Chris (Gloria), Judy, Janet, John (Bev), and Helen; her grandchildren - Tracey (Joe), Wendy (Philip), Kimberley (Matt), Jim, Mark (Reina), Deandra (Vince), David (Kamila), Scott (Olive), Todd (Shona), Lindsay (Karl), and Hayley (Brady); and her great-grandchildren - Devin, Skyler, Rhys, Alex, Ben, James, Kaeden, Liam, Matthew, Michael, Gabrielle, Aelysia, Kashton and Rylynn, as well as many nieces and nephews. Mom was young at heart and was always ready to help a relative, a friend or a neighbour. She loved making petit point pictures to give to everyone in the family and to special friends. She loved playing cards and teaching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren her favourite card games. We will always remember her infectious giggle and the way her eyes lit up whenever she saw her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mom was blessed with many friends, especially Ulla, a dear friend with whom she would spend many hours talking, sharing and laughing, particularly at Wednesday afternoon bingo games. The family would like to extend our gratitude to Anna, Kamal, Lauren and Marion at the Rosewood for the care and love they gave to Mom during the past two years of her life. Mom, we thank you for giving us the best things in life - your time, your care, and your love. A private service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Irene at the charity of your choice.
