SYLVIA PAULETTE LUBA (SICKEL) November 17, 1944 December 12, 2017 Peacefully in her sleep, after a year long courageous battle with cancer, we are saddened to announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother and grandmother on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at Grace Hospital. Remaining to hold onto many loving memories is her husband, Lawrence of 52 years; daughters, Karen and Brenda; son-in-law Patrick; as well as her three grandchildren, Tierney, Teighyn and Brodie. She will also be fondly remembered by her sister Rose; sisters-in-law, Stephanie and Gayle; brother-in-law Elliot and her many nieces, nephews, godchildren, relatives and friends. Funeral Prayers will be sung at Holy Family Ukrainian Catholic Church, 1001 Grant Avenue at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 17, 2017. A celebration of her life will take place on Monday, December 18, 2017 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, with a reception to immediately follow. A private family interment at Assumption Cemetery will take place. The family wishes to thank all of Sylvia's numerous caregivers, nurses and doctors that have helped her over the many years with her health challenges of multiple sclerosis, diabetes and most recently, bladder cancer. Your kindness and compassion will forever be appreciated. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to a charity of your choice in her honour.
