Condolences & Memories (9 entries)

  • Jake was my boyfriend many years ago. He was my first love and though we didn’t make it as a couple, we reconnected years later and shared fond memories and done good chats. I’m so deeply saddened to hear of his passing. I offer my sincerest condolences to his parents, Micah and dear friends. His passing is such a shock to me and I can only imagine the pain you’re all going through. Wishing you all love and peace during a very difficult time. - Posted by: Mary-Kate Bridson (Friend ) on: Sep 12, 2018

  • Jake was of the good ones. Wore his heart on his sleeve and was truly loyal and trustworthy. Jake and I met on our QL3 Inf reserve course. Became friends and stayed in touch even after he left NS and headed up to NB. He was A true professional in every sense of the word. The motto of our unit Semper Fidelis “Always Faithful” Jake exhibited to the fullest. I will miss the banter with the Leafs and Habs that we would have on Facebook when they would play each other. To his family I am truly sorry for your loss. My deepest condolences and prayers I send your way. Jake may you rest easy till we meet again. - Posted by: Michael Perry (Friend/co-worker ) on: Dec 29, 2017

  • My heartfelt condolences to Jacob's family. So sad to loose a member of our West Nova Scotia Regimental Family. He certainly served his country well. RIP soldier. Semper Fidelis. - Posted by: Garry Randall (West Nova Scotia Regiment Regimental Association ) on: Dec 29, 2017

  • Jake and I became friends while we completed our QL2 and 3 courses with the West Nova Scotia Regiment. Jake was always a great one for offering encouragement when needed. Jake had a positive energy, was quick to help others, and could always be counted on. I was somewhat older than the others recruits in our platoon and became known as Ma to many of the youngersoldiers, Jake included. I was saddened to hear of his passing and my heart-felt condolences are extended to his family and many friends. Semper Fidelis. Sincerely, Mary Kenny - Posted by: Mary Kenny (Friend) on: Dec 28, 2017

  • Jake was a soldier in A-Company (Mission Company) of the West Nova Scotia Regiment. I had the privilege of being the Sgt-Maj of that company at the same time. Jake was a hard working, honest soldier who upheld the traditions and memories of our Regiment by his tireless work and dedication to the job at hand. RIP Jake. • I did not personally know Corporal Knowlton, but from what I've heard and read, he was a good soldier and a true friend to many. On behalf of all members of the WNSR Regimental Association, I offer sincere sympathy to the family and hope that fond memories of Jacob will help to ease your grief. Rest in Peace, Jake, and thank you for putting service before self to serve Canada and her people. SemperFidelis. - Posted by: Col (Ret'd) J. Ron Stonier, CD (President of WNSRRA) on: Dec 22, 2017

  • A great co-worker and someone I’d like to consider my friend, Jake and I worked together for a couple of years. Always dependable and hardworking, he was someone we could rely on to not give up until the job was done. I’ll remember Jake’s can-do attitude and for always calling it as it was; you never had to worry, he’d always tell you what he thought. Very fond of hunting ‘back home’, I’ll also remember how often he spoke of getting another chance to go home and get in some hunting, though I am not sure if it was the hunting or being back home that he enjoyed the most. Jake: You were a great guy and left us too soon; I pray you’ve found your peace. - Posted by: Chris Bradley (Friend/Co-Worker) on: Dec 21, 2017
