Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANDREW RALPH WEBSTER June 5, 1925 - December 14, 2017 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dad, Andy Webster on Thursday, December 14, 2017 at the age of 92 at Deer Lodge Centre. Andy was born and raised in Winnipeg, MB and is survived by his two children, Jack and wife Val and Donna and husband Tom Racine and grandchildren, Chad (Valerie) Racine, Richard (Ashley), Kaylea (Thomas) and Kari Webster and great-grandchildren, Charlotte and Colton Racine and Laine and Wren Webster. He is predeceased by his loving wife Doreen, parents, George and Josephine, brothers, Vincent (Molly), James (Evelyn), Allen (Phyllis), and David, sisters, Virginia (Ted) and Doris (Walt) and is survived by sister-in-law Joan, many nieces, nephews and friends. Andy joined the Royal Canadian Navy when he was 16 years old and served until the end of the Second World War; after the war he joined the Canadian Armed Forces where he was stationed in Shilo, MB until he joined the Winnipeg Police Force where he worked for 35 years. Dad and Mom moved to Matlock, MB in their retirement years and loved to spend the winters in Maui, HI and Apache Junction, AZ. After Mom's passing Dad moved to Selkirk, MB where he was a life time member of the Selkirk Legion and formed many lasting friendships. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed time spent puttering around the yard and for many years he volunteered to care for the gardens at the Selkirk Legion. Dad also really enjoyed working around the marina at Rainy Lake, ON and talking with the customers. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who devoted his life to family. He will be sorely missed by us all. We would like to extend our gratitude and special thanks to all of the Tower 5 staff at Deer Lodge Centre for their care of Dad during the time he lived at the centre and their compassion and kindness during his short illness. A private family gathering has taken place. In lieu of flowers, if so desired, donations can be made to the Deer Lodge Centre Foundation, 2109 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3J 0L3. Though it's been many years since I last saw or spoke to him, I remember Andy Webster very well and extend my sincere condolences to his family. I started with the Winnipeg Police in 1976 and got to know Andy when we worked in the North End District 3 station. By then Andy was the station duty man and radio dispatcher for the north end cars. Andy was always a wonderful man to work with and he treated all people and his fellow officers with kindness and respect. He was always quick to smile and laugh. The world needs more men like Andy Webster. - Posted by: Bob Russell (Friend and colleage) on: Dec 23, 2017
