LYNDON LESTER MICHALCHUK June 1, 1958 December 22, 2017 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lyndon Lester Michalchuk. Lyndon passed away peacefully at midnight on December 22, 2017 while holding his mother's hand at the age of 59 after a hard fought battle with pneumonia and other health conditions. Lyndon will be remembered by his loving mother Wanda; children, Sasha and Jared and mother of his children Shelley; his aunts, Adeline and Paul Carbott, Helen Yankoski, Lena and Bill Kalyniak and Maria Michalchuk and his cousins, Danny, Lucien, Michelle, Raymond, Gerald, Jim, Rick, Larry, Maryanne, Dianne, Leslie and lifelong friend Don Mackinnon. Lyndon's family continually gave him everlasting love, support and encouragement each moment through his health battles. Lyndon is predeceased by and will be greeted by his father Wasylin (Bill) in 1994 and grandparents. Lyndon was born on June 1, 1958 in Winnipeg, Manitoba and is the only child of Wanda (Mushamanski) and Bill Michalchuk. Lyndon attended the University of Winnipeg and graduated in 1983 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He later went on to earn his Realtors licence in 1989 through The Canadian Real Estate Association. He first worked as a real estate agent with Royal Lepage and later on found his home at Maximum Realty. Lyndon and his mother Wanda worked as a mother- son team for over 30 years. Lyndon was known to fellow realtors and clients as a loving friend and hard worker, who always wanted the best for his clients. Lyndon fell in love with Shelley Legault-Michalchuk and they married on April 1, 1987, together they had two children, Sasha and Jared. His greatest joy and pride were his children, as they were his greatest accomplishment. Lyndon was always recognized for the exciting stories he told, hats that he wore and his welcoming personality. Over the years Lyndon spent a great deal of time at Riverview Healthcare Centre for Stroke rehab for which we would like to thank the Angels at Riverview who worked tirelessly to see that Lyndon always came home. To the Grace hospital; Dr. George and Dr. Guochau, thank you for your endless efforts and care that you have provided Lyndon throughout the years; nurses, Val, Leo, Heather, Wilma and Rachel thank you for your care and patience. A service to celebrate Lyndon's life will be held at St. John XXIII, 3390 Portage Avenue on Saturday December 30 at 10:30 a.m. followed by a private interment. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke foundation and Diabetes Canada in Lyndon's name. • Sad to hear his passing. He was a great soul. - Posted by: Ramandeep Benipal (former client) on: Aug 10, 2020

  • Lyndon was the kid with the beautiful red, curly hair sitting by the jukebox at John Taylor Highschool cafeteria. The jukebox played '' Won't you buy me a Mercedes Benz.'' He was headed for a career in business. Lyndon was a young Tory, carried a briefcase and wore a suit to the University of Winnipeg. These lifelong friendships of friends and family hold true today. He put up with my fussy, dysfunctional real estate transactions. Lyndon was concerned about my son Tyrell, my husband Barry and my cat Starfire. Even though he hated cats. After all, that is what friends do. I was lucky to have a lifelong friend, Lyndon. To his children be proud of your Dad. Carry on. Please accept our late condolences Penny, Barry, Tyrell, Haylea, Jayden & Starfire of Stittsville, Ontario - Posted by: Penny Horeczy (friend) on: Oct 14, 2018

  • Belated condolences to Wanda and family. Lyndon was a true gentlemen realtor. He was eager to support me when I first entered in the real estate industry as a mortgage broker. For that I will never forget. He was one of the good guys that should still be with us. - Posted by: Buzz Grant (Friend) on: Jul 07, 2018

  • Wanda ... In reading-through the Holy Cross bulletin for this week, I saw that a Mass was being offered for Lyndon and in checking online I am so shocked and so saddened to learn of his passing. It seems like just yesterday that we last talked at the MREA offices. I liked Lyndon because he was real and entertaining and had a really good heart and his family was very important to him. Many times you and Lyndon helped me by sharing your invaluable experiences and advice that made a real positive difference for me; for which I am very thankful. Wanda, I will offer prayers and Mass for both of you. May Lyndon rest in peace and may you be comforted and consoled as you must really miss him. Your friend ... • I met Lyndon and Wanda when I worked at Riverview. I am so sad to hear of his passing. My condolences Wanda, on your loss. - Posted by: Mel (Friend) on: Feb 27, 2018

  • I first met Lyndon many years ago when he and his dear mom Wanda helped us move into our first home. Me and Sylvia were so impressed by his honesty and dedicated work...no doubt inherited from his mom/dad. We kept in touch, off and on and finally we moved into our second home thanks to them. Lyndon was so sweet and kind as to offer our son Aaron a ride in his Golden PT Cruiser. Aaron was ever so thrilled on that day. Even after falling sick, we were taken up with Lyndon's positive attitude and on many visits, with my mom Stella, we got to know him very well. Rest in Peace, dear Lyndon, we will all miss you dearly. Wayne, Sylvia, Marjorie and Aaron. - Posted by: Wayne (Friend) on: Jan 20, 2018

  • It is with shock that I realize Lyndon is gone. My sympathies go to his family. I recall working at Eatons Polo Park in the 1970's with Lyndon - me at the cash desk and he in men's ware. He was a wonderful person, impeccably dressed and had a million dollar smile. He was loved by all his co-workers; he made the long work hours go faster with his quips and the occasional prank. Lyndon will be missed. - Posted by: Karen Isleifson (Worked at Eatons with Lyndon) on: Jan 13, 2018

  • To Wanda and family, Only knew Lyndon for a short time. I admired his courage and his patience in all he had to bear. He taught me much, in the way of seeing all that happens - as he said to me referring to his pain: "For this too there is a reason". You are in the best place now, Lyndon.. Wanda, your care and your love, was admired by all who saw how you stayed round the clock .. almost.. Lyndon is your special Angel... now. Love and God bless you Wanda, and all your family. - Posted by: stella (friend) on: Jan 11, 2018

  • Sincere condolences to the family and friends of this great realtor. I always was impressed by how Lyndon and Wanda worked together: teamwork, professionalism and a sense of dedication and humour. - Posted by: Trudy Johnson (Work Associate) on: Jan 03, 2018

  • I met Lyndon early in my career in the eay 1990's and we struck an instant friendship. Always boasting his signature warm smile was contagious. As the years passed, we had numerous lunches at Earl's Polo Park that had others join in including his long-time friend Don. We also had gallons upon gallons of coffee at Starbucks in Chapters Polo Park Festival and shared our "latest technology acquisition". Lyndon created a binder that housed his pager and his 1st generation blackberry and me, my mobile office with a computer desk, fax and printer that Lyndon wanted for his car so I got him one. He was the most honest person I had ever met and he was a true asset to our real estate industry and a true loss. My condolences to Wanda, Sasha and Jared as well as your extended family. RIP my friend. - Posted by: Jeff Stern (Friend and REALTOR®️ Colleage) on: Dec 30, 2017

  • We are so very very sorry to hear of Lyndon's passing. We first met Lyndon years ago when we recruited him to sell my father's home in St. James and then several years later sold our own home. Lyndon was always the consummate professional, always laid back and always interested in doing the best for his real estate clients. We have since retired and left Manitoba, but always wondered what happened to Lyndon as we hadn't seen his name associated with his mother and their real estate partnership. Lyndon was a very decent and very nice individual. - Posted by: Darryl & Jean Owens (Friend & Client) on: Dec 28, 2017

  • Wanda and family, I just read of the passing of your beloved Lyndon, and am saddened. I moved to Vancouver several years ago, but my heart will always be in my birth city of Winnipeg. I always found Lyndon a sweet and pleasant person whenever we met during our Real Estate careers. May his memory be for a blessing. Heartfelt condolences from Esther Weinstein. - Posted by: Esther Weinstein (realtor friend) on: Dec 28, 2017

May all your precious memories help you through your hardest times. Pat, Colin Crossley & family - Posted by: Pat Crossley (Former client of Wanda) on: Dec 28, 2017

  • We are so sorry to hear of the passing of Lyndon. We spent a long nine months with him and Wanda for the search of our home. He drove us across the city and back looking for our perfect home. He shared the ups and downs we had each time we put in an offer until we were able to settle in River Heights. I didn't know a realtor would put up with a famiy for nine months, but he did. We kept in touch for a few years after and are very thankful for all he did for us. May he rest in peace. - Posted by: Gregory and Chrissy Babiak (former clients) on: Dec 28, 2017
