HAZEL ESTELLE FROST (nee LUKER) May 15, 1922 December 27, 2017 Mom/Grandma, peacefully passed away on December 27, 2017, with family by her side. Hazel, was born in Brandon, Manitoba, and grew up in Rapid City, Manitoba. She married her husband Victor Frost, in Rapid City on October 28, 1944. Hazel and Vic spent time living in Swan River, Brandon, Virden and Portage la Prairie before settling in Winnipeg. Hazel worked outside of the home for a period of time before deciding to become a stay-at-home mom where she could focus her love and attention on her children. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend who treated all those that she knew with dignity and respect. Her love for her children also passed along to love for her grandchildren. Mom/Grandma loved spending time with children and her caring nature was adored by all who knew her. In addition, to being a great role model for her children and grandchildren, Hazel was also a wonderful cook who always made sure that her family had warm, healthy servings of food, even when the food budget was tight. Hazel, lost her husband Vic to cancer on March 28, 1999, also lost her daughter Bev on June 11, 2001, and her son Ken on October 27, 2007. She is survived by her son Ian, daughterin-law Tonya and grandchildren Kenneth, Dylan and Madison. She was also predeceased by her parents John and Florence, as well as her seven siblings. In addition to her family, Hazel was fortunate to have developed many strong friendships over the years. Special thanks to the staff on the 4th floor at Poseidon Care Centre for all of their compassionate care provided over the past few years. A funeral service to honour Hazel's life will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, on January 5, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. If desired, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba. Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • Auntie Hazel I will forever remember the numerous times when I was young coming to Winnipeg and spending either a week or just a few days with you and uncle Vic. The visits we shared with mom were always amusing to say the least. You were an amazing lady and I will cherish our memories forever. God bless and may you rest in peace with. • Deepest condolences for the family and friends. I used to love coming to see Aunt Hazel whenever my late wife and I were in Winnipeg visiting family. She was strong willed and a joy to be around. I will miss our great chats and time we spent. I am certain there was a celebration for her when she’s arrived to be with her sister Irene and the rest of her family and loved ones that arrived before her. Love You Aunt Hazel. - Posted by: Scott Zulyniak (Great Aunt) on: Mar 30, 2018
