BEVERLEY ELIZABETH BIRD April 7, 1950 February 5, 2018 It is with sadness and sorrow that we announce the passing of Beverley Bird at the age of 67. Bev was predeceased by her parents, Pauline and Don Bird. Mourning her loss is her sister Heather; brother-in-law Ben and their family, Sharon (Murray) and Greg. Also mourning her loss are the people who run Bronstone, one of the Winnserv homes for Intellectually Challenged people and Bev's housemates, Darryl, Larry and Tony. In spite of being Intellectually Challenged, Bev lived a full rounded out life. She did ten pin bowling, first with Manitoba Special Olympics, then in a fun league at the German Club. When she bowled with Special Olympics, she entered three National Competitions and won medals at all three events. She has not bowled in the last five or six years after breaking a hip, but enjoyed music, going to Baby Boomer Cafes, attending the ballet and concerts. Bev loved going to work every day at ImagineAbility and worked there for 50 years. A special thank you to Winnserv for their caring, love and support to Bev during her illness, to Deborah Murray minister and congregation at Sturgeon Creek Church for their support and encouragement. There will be an opportunity for people to offer condolences at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue on Monday, February 12, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. with a burial service to follow. A memorial service will take place at Sturgeon Creek Church, 207 Thompson Drive on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Sturgeon Creek Church or Winnserv, 960 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3G 0R4.
