So sorry to hear of Donna's passing on, and sorry I couldn't attend the service. Our mom & dad were "back-door" neighbours to Donna & Brian for many years in Transcona, and I have many fond memories of our "other mother". She was always there for us, our backup plan. They say that, for those of a certain generation, we will always remember where we were when we heard of JFK's assassination. I was a school kid having lunch at Donna's, the news was on, and Donna was crying. We asked her what was wrong, and she told us, and we all cried together. A story my dad told, after spending time at the Pedden's camp on Lake of the Woods: Unknown to Donna, Brian had rigged up a speaker in the two-seater outhouse. When she went to do her business, Brian announced "would you mind using the other seat lady? We're painting down here." Always a warm smile, a hearty laugh, and a twinkle in her eye. She truly enjoyed and embraced life, and enriched the lives of everyone who knew her, and was the source of many blessings. - Posted by: Doug Jentsch (friend) on: Mar 12, 2018

Brian: When we came onto Big Poplar Bay in 1970, you and Donna were our resource persons, telling us how to cope in a Bay eight miles from Kenora with no road access. Donna was a supportive dear, and you a source of details as to what to do. You had - and probably still have- a marvelous little island with a lovely large cove. All three of our young kids then knew THAT was the Pedden's place as we boated on the Bay!! Our son Steve noticed Donna's obit first and emailed us. Nancy and I are so sorry to learn the sad news. Take care of yourself Brian. Roy and Nancy Vincent - Posted by: Roy and Nancy Vincent (Friends on Big Poplar Bay, Lake of the Woods) on: Feb 21, 2018

I worked with Donna at Manitoba Housing for 2 years. I remember her convincing me to go with her son to his grad. She could talk anybody into anything. So sorry to hear of her passing. - Posted by: Christine (Hallem) Ward (Work friend) on: Feb 15, 2018
