DIANE IRIS PATERSON May 15, 1945 - June 17, 2018 Peacefully, Diane passed away on June 17, 2018 at Riverview Health Centre. Diane was predeceased by her husband John; parents, Stanley and Iris Mathias; and brother Doug (Adie). She leaves to mourn her passing and to cherish her memory sons, John Gary, Richard (Marlene); grandchildren, Matt and Suzie (Steve); her sister Janice (Lou) Nemeth, their son Louis (Lee); and grandnieces, Sydney and Ashley. She is also survived by numerous other family and wonderful friends. Diane will be remembered for her strong sense of family and how important they were to her. A highlight of her week was watching Sydney and Ashley perform at gymnastics. She loved and shared activities such as golf, bowling, bingo, travel, scrapbooking, quilting, and crafting with family and friends. She also had a love of watching golf, curling, figure skating, and equestrian. Diane loved visiting her sister at the cottage where she enjoyed their dog Hunter, and they could go across the border to the Casino in Warroad. She will be remembered for her kindness, caring and generous nature. Diane met John while working at Winnipeg Hydro and after they wed, she focused on raising John's children. Cremation has taken place and Diane's close friends and family are invited to a memorial service that will be held Saturday, June 23, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. The family extends a special thank you to the medical and nursing staff of both Unit 3 North at the Grace Hospital, and Riverview Health Centre Palliative Care Unit for the wonderful care given to Diane during her stay there. Flowers are gratefully declined. Friends so wishing may make a donation in Diane's memory to a charity of choice or to CancerCare Manitoba.
