Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCHARLES JENS SCHAU Charles, age 73 of Gimli, Manitoba, went to be with his Lord after a long struggle with illness on June 29, 2018, at home with his family. Chuck was born in Brooklands, Winnipeg, MB on June 11, 1945 to parents John and Lily (Archer) Schau. He shared many happy times with his brothers and sisters. He loved playing goal in hockey, coached soccer and baseball. Chuck attended Brooklands School, Red River Community College and University of Manitoba to obtain his accounting designation. In his career, he worked at Monarch Industries, Richardson Greenshields and the Federal Government, until his retirement. After retirement, he loved camping with his grandkids; hiking in the mountains, his model train sets and working on Lego creations. Chuck is survived by his loving wife, Kim; children, Neil, Jeff (Lisa), Jackie (Josh) and Michael. He was such a loving and proud grandfather to Rebekah, Andre, Evelyn and Thea. He is survived by his brothers, Jerry (Georgeanne) and Darcy (Marge); his sisters, Helen Kwamsoos, Neva Kelly and Barb Hendershot, and brother-in-law Lorne Palmquist. He left behind such precious memories of all his nephews and nieces. Chuck was predeceased by his parents, John and Lillian (Archer) Schau; brothers, James, Alfred and Herbert; sisters, Dolly Fitch, Phylis Palmquist, and brothers-in-law, Walter Kwamsoos, Ken Fitch and Leslie Kelly to whom he shared many happy moments with. Our family wishes to thank Dr. Ade and Dr. Fulmore at the Gimli Memorial Hospital, the Palliative home care team in Gimli and all our friends and family who have supported us during this very difficult time.
