ZACHARY GEORGE AUREL LEGER November 16, 1999 - August 18, 2018 Tragically, on August 18, 2018, much beloved Zachary Léger was taken from us at 18 years of age; leaving his family bereft. Dearly loved son of Vincent and caring brother to Emily. Zachary was predeceased by his mother Gisele Nault and grandmother Claire Nault. Treasured grandson of George and Germaine Léger and Aurel Nault; Zachary is also mourned by his tante Brigitte Léger (Dan Vandal) and oncle Bertrand Léger (Noel), as well as his aunties, Lorraine Derbyshire (Gerald O'Neil), Claudette Vincent (Bill Wainwright), Yvonne Nault and Yvette Nault; and also by his many loving cousins. Zachary was a bright, courteous and engaging young man who was eager to discuss any topic. He enthusiastically practiced yoga almost every day. He was also enthralled with nature; his frequent trail hikes with his dad were a favourite activity. Also an expert connoisseur of sports cars, he could name any model he spotted. Zachary attended Collège Louis-Riel and Oak Park High School. He loved their home in Charleswood, which his father had recently purchased. With its large wooded lot, the family's three cats and two dogs could run free. Zachary's passing will forever leave a large void in our lives. Tu vivras dans nos coeurs pour toujours cher Zachary. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Addictions Foundation of Manitoba, 1031 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3G 0R8. A celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 29, 2018, at Eglise Precieux-Sang, 200 Kenny Street, St. Boniface, MB. Condolences & Memories (5 entries)

  • I met Zach through art class that we took at OPHS. He was the new transfer student, and I wasn’t really aware of him until we were put in the same corner of the back room to paint for a project. He made the first move on talking with me, trying to break the ice. And he succeeded at it. Soon after we were talking more and more, and transferred it over to Snapchat. Which from there I realized that the more we talked and expressed ourselves, the more he grew on me. I fell in love with him at one point too but I just couldn’t break our friendship. I couldn’t tell him that I loved him. So I decided to keep it a secret and learned to hide those feelings the best I could. Though I’m pretty sure he knew and just didn’t say anything cause he didn’t wanna hurt my feelings. And I’ll always love him for that. Zach was always an empathetic and an encouraging person. I had seen him as a big brother / father figure in my life. He was always there for me in support and love. And had left a really big impacted on my life. He made me feel like I worth a million stars, that I was beautiful, talented and above all, loved. He made me feel less alone, and offered to be my twin when I had lost mine 5 years ago. He was fully of love, strength, courage, and power. He has left many marks on many lives that he has touched, including mine. I’ll never, ever forget him, or stop loving him. And I pray that he’s happy and doing ok. I hope we meet again Zach❤️ Love you lots. Rest easy now. - Posted by: Denisha Crow (Best friend) on: Oct 26, 2018

  • My condolences to his family, my goodness my sisters and I used to hang out with him and his little sister Emily. They used to come over and my sister and I used to play Barbies and Bratz all the time and watch movies, stay over for supper. They were like family to us, he will be forever always in our thoughts. • I went to school with Zach, we were close, my younger sister even used to hang out with us and his sister Emily. We used to walk home at the end of everyday after school for a while. This was back in grade 6. He was such a kind soul, it has been a while since we've seen each other but even then, he was so full of life. My condolences to his family. I am stunned and very saddened to hear about this tragedy. May he forever rest in peace. You'll be remembered and missed. - Posted by: Sare (elementary school friends ) on: Aug 27, 2018

I hope you're up there hanging out with Monty. I'm so sorry this had to happen. Rest in peace. - Posted by: Natasha Bonomo (Past Classmate) on: Aug 26, 2018
