TRACEY LAURA VANDERSTEEN While on holidays with family in Grand Forks, ND, Tracey Laura Vandersteen, aged 50, passed away unexpectedly yet peacefully on August 28, 2018, with her loved ones close by. While Tracey lived in Winnipeg, the home in her heart was always Fisher Branch, MB, where she grew up and of where she always spoke with pride. Tracey and her daughter Alysha moved to Winnipeg where she took courses to become a legal assistant. She worked in private practices until June 1, 1998 when she joined the Civil Legal Services SOA in the Department of Justice where she worked as Legal Assistant for 20 years. Tracey was a passionate curling fan. She spent many years coaching her girls from the age of eight all the way through high school. She loved her years curling, especially her Monday Attorney General's league. If curling was on TV, you could be certain that Tracey was watching. Tracey travelled many times to watch her favourites play. She went to Victoria to watch the worlds with Alysha, and recently, she was travelling to Las Vegas with her best friends, Barb and Brian Bell to see the Continental Cup. Tracey is survived by her husband Jeffrey Perron, her daughter Alysha (Larocque) McConnell (Adam), her parents, William and Helen (Letexier) Vandersteen, her brothers, Mark (Tina) and Matthew, and sister Michelle Carnegie (Dave). She loved her three grandchildren, Jace, Wyatt and Averi with all her heart and with whom she spent as much time as she could. They brought so much joy to her life. As well, Tracey leaves behind three nephews, Andrew (Jocelle), Cameron and Tyler. She is survived by numerous uncles, including Ernie Letexier, aunts and cousins. Tracey was a cherished part of the Perron family who also grieve her passing. She was predeceased by her biological mother Linda Gransden. The family would like to thank the Canad Inns Grand Forks for their incredible support and generosity on the day of Tracey's passing. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to "Sandra Schimirler Foundation". Please check social media shortly for information on Tracey's memorial service. • It still seems surreal that your now gone, it has been two weeks since your passing. I know you loved us all unconditionally and that is what makes it especially hard to accept that your truly gone. I still have Mark’s and my wedding card that you gave us over 25 years ago. Even though Tracey did not like shopping, she would take, however long it took to find that right card for that right person. You always had a big heart Tracey and you were our little firecracker that always lit up a room. I will always carry a part of you with me always. Love and miss you. • In the short time we knew Tracey, we realized she was a fun loving person to spend time with. She brought much joy to Linda, Michelle and their whole family. She closed the big hole in Linda's heart, unfortunately they were not able to spend as much time together as they wanted. She will be missed by everyone who knew her, God Bless. Please give Linda a huge hug for us. - Posted by: Len and Evy Bialek (Friends) on: Sep 08, 2018
