Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHARVEY PETER FRIESEN 1926 - 2018 On Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Boundary Trails Health Centre, Harvey P. Friesen, aged 92 years of Winkler, MB, went to his eternal rest. He leaves to mourn his passing, three daughters, two sons and their families. Viewing will be from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 25 at Wiebe Funeral Home, 121 8th St. in Winkler and at the church prior to the service. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 26, 2018 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1111 Southview Dr. in Winkler with interment to follow at the Winkler Cemetery. Donations may be made in Harvey's memory to either the Canadian Lutheran World Relief, or to the Trinity Lutheran Church (available at the church) or to Katie Cares. Mr. Friesen's tireless efforts, to have the Canadian Armed Forces recognize the long term health effects of mustard gas testing carried out on our soldiers in Europe during the war, brought great relief to my mother and to the many others who watched their spouses wither away. I was 17 when my father died of Multiple Myeloma, and it was close to 20 years before I learned of the cause, and received some compensation from Veterans' Affairs.
