Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDAVID C. TAYLOR It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of David Chalmers Taylor at the Deer Lodge Centre on October 20, 2018 at the age of 98 years. Dave was born on September 6, 1920 in Headingley, MB to William Herbert Taylor and Jesse Margaret (Chalmers) Taylor. Dave was the eldest of three children and had two younger brothers; Frank and Bill. In 1941 Dave was a young private in the Air Force stationed in St. Thomas, Ontario when he met the love of his life in nearby London, Ontario. It was love at first sight. In 1942 Dave and Ethel were married in London and soon after were transferred by the Air Force to several postings in eastern and western Canada. After the war, the couple moved to the family farm in Headingley where they settled in to raise a family and began farming. Dave and Ethel lived in Headingley the majority of their married life, raised three children and were happily married for over 72 years. Dave is predeceased by his wife Ethel, his parents, William and Jesse Taylor and his brother Frank. Dave is survived by his brother Bill (Audrey), children, Robert, Sandra (Larry) and Larry and their respective families including nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. As well, Dave leaves behind many nieces, nephews and other close relatives. A celebration of Dave's life will be held at a later date which will be announced well in advance of the event to ensure planning time for those who wish to attend from out of town locations. The family wishes to thank the staff at Sturgeon One and Deer Lodge Centre for their support, care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Headingley Holy Trinity Anglican Church cemetery fund or an alternate charity of choice. It's been a little over 1 month since your passing. I feel terrible about missing Aunt Ethel's funeral. I tried to find someone I could get a ride with, but without success. Didn't have any way of getting out to it. Miss you Uncle Dave, my godfather. - Posted by: Jeff Taylor (he was my uncle/godfather) on: Nov 30, 2018
