Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARLENE MARGUERITE SHAAK November 21, 1947 - October 30, 2018 It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the death of Marlene Shaak on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at St. Boniface Hospital. Marlene leaves to mourn her two sons, Eric (Anne) and Brad, and grandchildren, Nicholas and Cassandra. Marlene is also survived by her brothers, Wayne, Alex (Sue) and Greg (Elaine), sisters, Wendy (Karl) and Karen (Murray), and numerous nieces and nephews. Marlene was born in Winnipeg, MB on November 21, 1947 to Herman and Mary Shaak. She graduated from Red River Community College in 1968 and worked as a lab technologist at Misericordia Hospital, Seven Oaks Hospital, and the Health Sciences Centre. In 1969, Marlene married Brian Johnson and moved to St. Andrews where she raised two children. Above all, family was the most important thing to Marlene, and she loved getting together with her relatives during the holidays. She enjoyed cooking and knitting, and was happy to live a simple and quiet life at home, reading a good book or watching her favourite TV shows. The family would like to thank the staff of St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care for their kindness and assistance. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 6 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. Marlene was always one of the kindest, sweetest people on this earth. Eric, Ann and Brad, I am so sorry for your loss. I have many wonderful memories of your Mom that will always be with me.
