RODNEY DAVID 1947 - 2018 A good man left this world Monday, December 17, 2018 to rest without pain. He leaves to forever miss him, his wife of 50 years, Rowney, his children, Shane (Janet) and Vicky (Darryl), his granddaughter Veronica (Gabe), a stepdaughter Wendy, a stepgrandson Zak and his adopted brother and sister Bruce and Lori. Rod was predeceased by his parents, Ethel and Victor and his sister Patricia. He leaves behind many relatives including nieces and nephews. He worked a variety of jobs before settling with Canada Post as a courier. A stroke at age 59 took him into retirement and he later faced a four-year battle with cancer which reoccurred last year. He was very independent and always had the last word. His wishes are to be remembered as you last saw him. He declined a funeral and in lieu of flowers a donation can be made to CancerCare Manitoba or the Winnipeg Humane Society.

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • Rod and I worked together in the early eighties his favourite line was, "When you're the best there’s only the rest." Rest in peace. My condolences to the family. - Posted by: Mike Shannon (Co-worker ) on: Jan 16, 2019

  • My deepest sympathy for your loss. - Posted by: Nettie Viallet (Friend) on: Dec 31, 2018

  • Sad to hear of Rodneys passing. Rodney and I grew up together and I can think of many happy times we had in school, and socializing through our teen years. Unfortunately, we lost touch when Rodney left Lac du Bonnet. I will cherish forever the conversation we had about old times when he was in Lac du Bonnet for his brother-in-law Bob Kost's memorial service. Our condolences to your family on your loss. I consider Rodney a true friend. Sincerely, Donnie & Norma Hladki - Posted by: Donnie & Norma Hladki (Friend) on: Dec 23, 2018
