ELSA (ELSIE) NORQUAY Elsie passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Tuesday, January 15, 2019. She was born on December 18, 1926, on the family homestead near Faulkner, MB, to Anna and Adolph Sidof. She attended Wooddale School, later moving to Winnipeg to work for Dr. I. Beckman. At the end of the war she met and married Harold Norquay. She became a stay at home mom, looking after her two daughters. She loved gardening, cooking, needlepoint and crocheting. She attended The Good Neighbours Club where she loved participating in the PACE Program. In the last few years Mom went to the Middlechurch Day Program which she enjoyed immensely. Many thanks to Bea, and all the volunteers, who made this a special place for her. She was predeceased by husband Harold, her parents, sister Martha and brothers, Henry and Alec. She is survived by daughters, Lynne and Shirley (Timo), grandson Curtis Kangas and great-granddaughter Rylie plus many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held February 2, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 930 Winakwa Road with Pastor Annemarie MacIntosh officiating. Cremation has taken place. The family would like to thank the First Responders, Paramedics and Emergency Staff at the Health Sciences Centre for their care, compassion and kindness. Heaven just became a little brighter.
