MANLY RUSEN It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Manly Rusen on February 24, 2019, in his 89th year. Manly was the son of I.D. and Eva Rusen. Born and raised in Winnipeg, Manly attended St. John's High School before getting his law degree from the University of Manitoba. A well-respected member of the legal community in Winnipeg, Manly worked for many years as a lawyer and provincial court judge. Manly was known for his sharp wit and unique sense of humour and was a sought-after master of ceremonies, especially known for hosting many Y.M.H.A. dinners. He was an avid sports enthusiast who had a love/hate relationship with both his beloved Winnipeg Jets and Blue Bombers. Manly took great pride in his family and cherished his role as Zaida to his seven grandchildren. Dear friend and companion of Betty Laing. Former husband of Gail Rusen (Freedman). Loving father of Lewis (Vicki), I.D. (Liora) and Marli. Grandfather of Zachary, Elicia, Nora, Sophie, Jacob, Noah and Daniel. Manly will be lovingly remembered and missed by family, friends and all who knew him. A special thanks to the staff at the Simkin Centre and to his helper Norma. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 27 at Rosh Pina Memorial Park (Graveside), 2795 Main St. Shiva on Thursday, February 28 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at 121 Girton Blvd.
